Re:Grok Build is open source on Wednesday July 15, 2026 @07:41PM (#48928680)
This is not how to push your own product - there's no value add to your comment, and you don't even have a disclaimer that you are involved with it
No, ultrathink puts it in /effort high mode. There's no kw for one turn of effort max
Nope, they buried the lead a bit but this is coming for _all_ users, even pro/plus subscription plans. So you get chatgpt pro/plus benefits, and then effectively $20/$200 in credits for codex

I disagree, the claude models seem the best at tool calling, opus 4.5 seems the smartest, and claude code (+ claude model) seems to make good use of subagents and planning in a way that codex doesn't
Blew it out of the water with more or less lines of code? :)

Looks like those hits are because they forked it https://github.com/oxidecomputer/cockroach (no changes since then though)
Re:Discord Rolled Out Yubikeys for All Employees on Sunday August 06, 2023 @10:56AM (#37022632)
From the article:

> Nowadays, newly-onboarded Discord corporate users receive a laptop and at least one Yubikey alongside that laptop. IT onboards users to Okta and instructs them to register at least two WebAuthn authenticators; typically, this is their Macbook’s TouchID/Windows Hello sensor and also their Security Key C NFC.

> We also instruct corporate users to set up Okta Verify for use only as a fallback MFA in the event that all their authenticators fail at once. This way, we never have user accounts lacking at least one strong form of multi-factor authentication.

So OS level keys, a yubikey for roaming, and Okta Verify for fallback

Where do you see those being available for under 100gbp!?
Re:Podman Desktop 1.0 on Tuesday May 23, 2023 @01:48PM (#36048039)
It's not linux only? Podman desktop runs on Windows (I'm using it right now) and Mac
Re:DALL·E now available in beta on Wednesday July 20, 2022 @12:48PM (#32168499)
Yep. During the alpha it was (50*6) 300 images per day, by their pricing model that would be $300 a month now
Re:DALL·E now available in beta on Wednesday July 20, 2022 @12:43PM (#32168409)
That's about 10x as expensive as it should be
I flip flop between Firefox and Chrome constantly and for as long as I can remember, Chrome has always just felt snappier

I signed up on day 2, still no access :')

Fastmail DNS Down?

Seeing issues resolving domains that use their nameservers (including my own, for email, so this is Very Bad Not Good).Their status page shows all green, only info I can find on the web is someone else (https://twitter.com/kapi/status/1446361828477440005) nearly an hour ago asking if their DNS was down.

> Theft of iPhones basically stopped being a problem because features like these makes the device a mostly useless brick once it’s marked in Apple’s systems as stolen.

Uhh, got a citation on that?

FYI looks like magic-wormhole.io doesn't listen on 443, only on port 80 (which redicts to github).

Looking at their sponsors list, looks like Fastly. Commendable.

As I understand it, this is not true - you _can_ run Windows containers.

Re:WindowGrid for Window Management on Windows on Saturday April 17, 2021 @12:51PM (#26845647)
I've been going back and forth between tiling WMs on Linux, and using this on Windows, and I 100% think this is the better approach. You set the minimum grid size, and then using your mouse you drag windows over grid boxes until it's set up how you want.

This is, IMO, better than a tiling WM as you don't have to mess about with resizing windows or changing the way the layouts are stacked. Just put the windows where you want them, and move them when you want them.

Re:The architecture behind a one-person tech startup on Thursday April 08, 2021 @10:06AM (#26738815)
Great writeup.

How do you handle database migrations when using an otherwise automated CI/CD flow with gradual deployment?

Re:SPAs Are Dead? on Wednesday April 07, 2021 @05:05PM (#26731264)
That's not true. Wikipedia [0] has a nice summary:

> A single-page application (SPA) is a web application or website that interacts with the user by dynamically rewriting the current web page with new data from the web server, instead of the default method of the browser loading entire new pages. The goal is faster transitions that make the website feel more like a native app.
