> You can’t just have a database admin,” Pandey explained. “A database is now 500 components. So you need your [site reliability engineer] organizations and your DevOps organizations to be aligned to that.”
LOL, what? Maybe for the cloud provider... but what’s presented to the end-customer is most certainly not 500 components.
Lots of Microsoft quantum posts all at once omiossec!
Probably because it’s unresolved 5 years later
What’s your alternative high-level advice then?
Is that per non-disclosure event?
Lots of hyperbole there. Ring doorbells aren’t cheap and I pay for the subscription plan (fairly limited without it). It generates revenue on the subscription not the data.
Loup is right. No need to be super defensive.... Your initial post reads very wrong. I also was very surprised. It would help if you clarified
Why? I don’t trust F and G but the others are better than M to me.. Netflix has produced tons of widely used open source products for example...
This brought a little joy to my evening. What a clever, creative idea with an equally emotionally-palatable name! Love it
Geez... This is a worse outcome than even the cynicals predicted.
You’ve posted three set-promotion links in roughly three minutes, and that is rather spammy.. Wouldn’t it be better to space these out over a day or a few days even?
Oh that sounds difficult. Were you eating enough fat & protein each meal, that you needed to burn off? Since your body didn’t have the fat stored...

No it’s not that easy. This was human error. You can setup auto renewal, pay for 10 years in advance, check for email reminders, or set a calendar reminder, or all of the above. Seems OP failed to do all those (though apparently the email forwarded service they were using didn’t work).
> But don't kid yourself - that would not solve botting at all.
What would solve it? Or rather, what is the best defensive measure these days?
I usually hate the cryptocurrency articles that get posted here, but I do like this one — a decent overview of technical challenges & possible solutions
Node.js runs on V8, so if you add the DOM and HTML... you have, essentially a browser.
The article should have started with:
“A company, who weeks after attempting to cash out low-value shares with the dollars of future investors by attempting to IPO under hand-wavy numbers,”
Then continued with the real article:
Is now “expected to lay off thousands of employees beginning this week as it faces ballooning losses”
It wasn’t just Reader... have you paid attention to the other stories?
So Google is the middle man? I’d rather just go straight to Citi directly, and get customer support on the phone or in-person
Amazon’s Echo devices have this(according to both an engineer who posted here on HN about a year ago, and according to their privacy page)
That’s great news! Draw.io is fantastic and I keep discovering new things about it. So thank you for making it easy to use with an optional rich set of options!
This is standard text I’ve seen in hundreds of IT support job ads too. Nothing nefarious.
> As a British Colony, the US would not have been as available to other Europeans, and development would have been slower.
Do you have a source for this? My understanding is that in 1775, the British colonies of America were the fastest growing and most populous of the British empire. So if the war happened, why would this not continue to be the case?
The counter argument is: If a widowed elderly woman lives in a 900 sqft home bought in 1963, how is it her fault that the world went crazy and values it at $1,200,000+ today? Have you seen a 1963 house? They’re a fire hazard not worth 1.2M.. And yet, you want her owe tax on that crazy value, yet she is stuck with a static retirement income? Where should she go? Idaho?
I’m for increasing tax on income earners, but not on retired elderly who just want to die in peace. The younger generation could move to other geographies much easier
> Chronoshere, a startup from two ex-Uber engineers, who helped create the open source M3 monitoring project to handle Uber-level scale, officially launched today with the goal of building a commercial company on top of the open source project.
I recall a thread here from 2-3 weeks ago about how “Uber-scale” wasn’t really Uber scale, and that most of these publicized “Uber-scale” projects ended up getting canned internally. Any insider insight to this M3 project?
This is pure blog spam with nothing new. Please don’t post this here
Their first point is that RH might stop supporting Keyclosk. What happens if Gluu goes out of business... isn’t that just as likely, if not more? Who is Gluu? The article compares Gluu to Ping’s IPO, but I doubt the financials are the same. Sorry this is a really weak argument
Looking at states is probably a bad approach (too broad). Do you have the same calculation on a per-metro basis? SFO, Austin, LA, Dallas, Orlando, Miami, Houston, San Antonio?
