So basically Skitch for mobile?
Any URL off localweb.is has a geographic boundary of about 2 miles. So you can go to localweb.is/warhammer and post about warhammer, but only others within range can see and reply.

Why on earth would we do this? Because we think the local space fundamentally sucks.. and its too hard to find others in the area with the same interests.. and no one needs yet another app.. and we love the web.

The "front page" of the local web, localweb.is is a list of the urls people have created in the area sorted by activity... basically, whats trending within walking distance.

If you are in SF or Boston, you might see something on the front page, if not, you are likely the first person to view the local web in your 2 mile radius.

Ideas on how to use the local web? 1000ways.org

Open to all questions/comments. We don't really know what the local web will be, its a bit of an experiment.

Any problem involving network effects is hard to pull off with small or medium services.
Thanks for the feedback, we really tried for it not to sound like an infomercial, while at the same time showing an example of how to move before friends and followers.

We are really nothing like Facebook, and in many ways, the opposite. Id be happy to give you the demo some time. [email protected] or 415-390-6808

Wow, haven't thought about SimAnt in a long time. Loved that game, thanks. And SimTower too.
Re:Why Privacy Matters Even If You Have 'Nothing to Hide' (2011) on Thursday January 29, 2015 @11:17AM (#8966974)
I wish there was a gmail plugin that would make the users email publicly accessible, but read only. This would clearly test their "I have nothing to hide" argument.
Re:A Designer's War on Misleading Parking Signs on Wednesday January 21, 2015 @10:32AM (#8923478)
Parking signs are the worst. This designers improvements are clearer though the type size is much smaller. Sometimes you can only see the parking signs as you are driving by looking for a space. Its not much help if you have to park your car, then read the sign.

I attempted a similar solution using a "universal language for time and date" that I created.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o_n4XBKZUI Never really went anywhere beyond the video though.

I don't predict what the market wants. I will just audit a site or product to uncover UX/UI or other design/marketing issues before they end up as help tickets.
I first thoughts were "matresses are tuff and may feel like needles in them."
There are re-shipping companies that can send you orders from the US to Canada.
Well... Tuft and Needle is rediculous name for a mattress company. But congrats to your success. Also, please switch up your renders for actual photos. The renders are quite obvious and feel deceptive.
The data is as accurate as Crunchbase is. And I suspect that all companies listed were once startups.

Re:How much salary is enough? Apparently, $75,000/year on Friday January 18, 2013 @03:44PM (#5080890)
You can also divide that by the number of mouths you have to feed.
Re:Branch on Monday January 14, 2013 @02:20PM (#5056072)
Can someone please explain what branch is and why it's different? I can't seem to make heads nor tails of it, and the front page video is typical useless marketing material.
