Neoliberalism: more profits, less service.
I watched Mad Max 2 recently and didn't realize it was scored by a different BM until after checking IMDb.
Trump's techbro buddies cozied up and intertwined interests with the regime's so they'd get preferential treatment when the music stopped. Just like 2008, they'll get taxpayer-funded selective socialism for wealthy people's mistakes/intentional speculation/malfeasance.

Neoliberalism 101.. monetize and privatize everything and punish the poor disproportionately. Not for a beneficial purpose, but because "free is communism".

T480 also has dual batteries with one being removable. I upgraded the top cover to magnesium, added WiFi 7, upgraded to 32 GiB, swapped from a HDD to a SSD, and changed the motherboard from i3-7300U to the i7-8650U. The only repair I ever did was replace the screen because I messed up once and dropped it. Oddly enough, it supports an eGPU over Thunderbolt 3 and 25W TDP unlocking so it was once used as my compact gaming machine. Mine also has 3 spare extended batteries and a custom external charger for them.
T480s and T490 are inferior compared to the T480's usability of ports and batteries.
Yep. BGA SSD and RAM chips can often be changed, sometimes offering more capacity than was officially available.
One can also DIY such mods/repairs but it requires some extra equipment and supplies.
Powell memo and the real conspiracy of greed to destroy the middle class.
Yep. Doesn't work. Just a bunch of garbage. This is anti-accessibility and user hostile.
Homebrew governance sucks. The only problem with that is MacPorts requires sudo, which risks the stability of the system. Maybe Nix works on Mac? Or skip shoehorning fragile patched software on a hostile system that is entirely different from production and use tools in containers more similar to production instead.
Next on StacheD, indoor BESS burns down affordable housing complex and smolders for 2 weeks.
BESS isn't inherently bad, but needs to be treated with respect. LFP packs need continuous igniters and NMC packs need combustibles-free clearance, and both need deflagration gases ventilation.
Kaiser sucks unless you're healthy.
Depending upon a murderous billionaire for critical comms or infrastructure is always a fragile, perilous idea.
Formal methods for reliable software and properly configured systems secure by default.

Russia's idea of hybrid warfare means doing things like dragging anchors across internet cables and paying people to firebomb warehouses and businesses.
Maybe or maybe not. My YT account is marked with a scarlet letter such that I can't use certain keywords or discuss concepts as freely as others, or my comments get shadowbanned/shadowdropped. My workarounds are to use euphemisms or alternate Unicode spellings. I'd like to be able to talk normally as others but some platforms do discriminate inconsistently and somewhat seemingly arbitrarily.
This linguistic phenomenon predates draconian keyword censorship by social media platforms.
Georgia Carlin opined that instead of saying "died", euphemisms were introduced like "passed away".
So for death and bodily/reproductive functions/organs, euphemisms get created that attempt to soften the impact and/or require extra steps to understand what's being said so as not to offend people or traumatize small children. And as a euphemism for an unpleasant concept becomes more widely used and known, another is created and the cycle starts all over again.
Neither the SR-71 nor F-14 will fly again without significant funding, and not for any economically-viable use.
The SR-71 won't because there's no JP-7 supplier, no flyable KC-135T, and no parts.
Too much complexity. It would be simpler for IATA to approximate GA conventions of using partial registration numbers, perhaps 2 to 4 suffix characters depending on traffic conditions. It's overly verbose and slower to announce the brand or callsign of an airline followed by the low density decimal flight number.
It happened again 2 days later with 2x AA2482. ATC distinguished them by their phases of flight and locations, and by pilots' voices.

The captain must've open the armored cockpit door (made by Safran) because it's inaccessible from them cabin, and that action made all the difference because it permitted aid from persons in the cabin instead of leading to a repeat of Germanwings 9525 or 9/11.
The first officer, an Omani national, was previously fired from Oman Air for extremist views but subsequently hired by FlyDubai. Israel forbids commercial pilots from operating in their territory unless they're nationals of states with diplomatic relations with Israel, so FlyDubai already violated this standing policy by sending this particular pilot on this flight.
It's still unsure if the captain was attacked with the in-cockpit rescue axe that's standard equipment on the 737 MAX and/or by a pocket knife or other sharp or improvised weapon the first officer brought or utilized.
A non-pilot passenger claims to have arrested the descent. It's potentially possible because the deadheading 737 pilots would've most likely been seated near the rear of the cabin. Although, I don't understand how a passenger or anyone could've managed to physically reach the cockpit controls in such a precipitous dive that would've likely pinned occupants to ceiling or floated unseated passengers towards the back of the cabin. Therefore, it's hard to say for certain the non-pilot passenger did what they claimed without corroborating eyewitness testimony. It's possible that the plane partially recovered on its own and the passenger further reduced the rate of descent to a survivable amount.
It's also hard to say when and how the rudder control surface mostly ripped off, whether it was the psycho FO only, FO or captain during their brutal physical altercation, transsonic regime aerodynamic overspeed, or from abrupt input of subsequent person(s) at the controls. The engineering "miracle" is that the aircraft remained structurally sound enough to land, but I anticipate it will require an MRO structural D check and repairs before returning to service.
PS: Some 737 MAX-9 are getting retrofitted with secondary cockpit security doors because there is a problem with locked 737 MAX cockpit primary doors spontaneously opening during a rapid depressurization event. This means terrorists/crazies could intentionally depressurize the cabin to try to break into the cockpit.
The arbitrary absolutism of the original postulate is the first problem. AI, used or unsupervised inappropriately, is at potential risk of creating limited mass casualty events when placed in under-supervised control of real world objects and/or systems. Delegating management decisions to algorithms is inherently problematic and potentially dangerous, but not necessarily an existential threat unless something extremely stupid is allowed to happen on a large scale. With a guiding principle of human review in the decision loop before making large or risky changes, hopefully this will never happen.
Nothing will change in a lasting manner without first leadership addressing political and campaign corruption. Then and only then can SPH and nationalization/re-regulation/nonprofitization happen. For-profit healthcare should be allowed on the periphery but only under a carefully proscribed and uniformly-regulated manner rather than the predatory manner (i.e., private equity) allowed now. Nearly all healthcare should be nonprofit, government, and/or small businesses vaguely similar to the UK NHS or how it worked 50 years ago.
Circa 4.1, I really loved the idea of Qubes VM-level app isolation similar to Kata Containers in service/server-land but experienced showstoppers with configuration management, disaster recovery (backup & restore even with the built-in helpful stuff), and privileged stuff like networking, USB, custom background services, and hardware support. There was too much undocumented magic tweaking necessary to make a physical laptop usable. ): Maybe it's improved?
$TRUMP coin is a way for foreign and domestic players to stuff money into his pockets.
It should randomly demand FlareSky CAPTCHAs and experience "site maintenance".
Couldn't tick the box on mobile. ):
Edit: Refreshing the browser fixed it.
Universal SPH would save a net $300B to $1T, reduce paperwork, reduce deaths/improve outcomes, and provide better care. The FUD canards of "rationing", "waiting lists", and "communism" as well as classism and corrupt profiteering are the barriers to less suffering. Just give everyone the same coverage that doesn't have a 20% hole or lifetime limits... and that eliminates Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, CHIP, ACA, and most private insurance, and most billing coding and prior-auth nonsense. Not doing so wastes money and kills people, just like parts of the BBB coming into effect after the midterms is going to bankrupt and kill thousands of people.
