i didn’t use the chinese models yet, but aren’t people worried of the biased knowledge they might have since they’re somehow controlled by the ccp?

what could go wrong? the ccp probably thinking hard on how they can leverage this?

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026) on Sunday May 10, 2026 @09:05PM (#48089918)
working on https://heylife.ai, an app that gives you proactive advices based on your calendar/taste/hobbies/location

let’s say you are arriving in paris. it will send you advice on how to get to the city from the airport. big soccer game in an hour? will send you advice on prepare it.

you don't need to ask, it will give you before / when you need it.

now working on the sandboxing and scheduling of the advices. releasing it this week if anyone want to give it a shot. (it will be paid only)

CraftMyGame – no-code game engine with multiplayer baked in

I’ve always loved making games but had the pain of rebuilding the same systems every time. Wanted my own editor with reusable components I could iterate on quickly. Most no-code tools felt too limited, so I built my own.

This week I shipped something I’m really excited about: a visual event system (think Unreal Blueprints / Unity visual scripting). It encapsulates the full UI editor—which wasn’t easy to navigate—into something way more approachable. Physics, combat, inventory, dialogue, pathfinding, all wired up visually: https://youtu.be/8fRzC2czGJc

Every game is multiplayer by default (WebSocket with client-side prediction, zero server config).

55+ systems under the hood, but the visual editor is now the main way in. I use it for my own games and improve the editor as I go. Turns out it’s also useful for asset creators who have beautiful sprites but no way to ship playable games, and devs who want to prototype fast without setting up infrastructure.

Some examples:

∙ Survivor-style: https://craftmygame.com/game/e310c6fcd8f4448f9dc67aac

∙ Platformer: https://craftmygame.com/game/f977040308d84f41b615244b

Stack: Next.js, Three.js, sockets.

Challenges now: I believe people can build complete games with it, but now convincing people they can do games with it isnt easy. I also try to get people who want to have games without having to do them so I can continue the project.

If you are curious, and want to give it a spin, it is Totally free. Feedback welcome, especially on first-time experience

ask people that stayed late to help cleanup a bit. It will only take them 5minutes and will save you hours. Also cleanup everything before you go to sleep. It will save your next day

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2025) on Sunday May 25, 2025 @05:47PM (#44091484)
I'm working on an AI web game generator for businesses. I spent a year developing our custom game engine to build a few games that didn't work, but I made the game engine to have reusable modules we can reuse for creating new games quickly . Now I've pivoted to allow anyone (business especially) to create new games on the fly.

here the games result so far: https://playcraft.fun

I love the animated stickman!

building myself html games myself[1] with my own game engine. Getting players is really hard. I was betting on SEO, but results will take a long time. do you think getting a publisher worth it? I was reluctant putting the game on steam too since I think the target players wont be there

Happy to hear recommendations!

how would you protect your websocket server? I am building a game, but when I put the domain behind (free plan) cloudflare, I get latency delay (3x slower) on the players events.

Saw CF had some paying solution, but was wondering about a free solution
