Just starting to look into switching from yarn v1 to pnpm and using it in my local docker environment. I see a lot of examples on using pnpm with docker for the final production build, but am having trouble figuring out the best way to do it for local development.I usually have a docker-compose.yml file like this ---
services:
node:
build:
context: .

I was going to recommend sleepytime[1] to try and find a good time to go to bed at if you want to get up at 6AM. It looks like 10:30 is a good time though. Maybe try to find your sleep cycles and set your alarm for a time when you are not in deep sleep? There are some smartphone apps that are meant to help do this.

That's a problem with whoever designed the new landing page then, not a problem with Bootstrap 3.0.
I think Boner wants IMAP for fetching email from other email accounts. At the moment it can only do that with POP3.
What kind of music do you make? I've been wanting to try Ableton out but it kind of looks geared toward working with samples and MIDI. I mostly record guitars and all my instruments live with a mic. Is Ableton appropriate for recording and mixing recorded music? Would you say it is as powerful as Logic Pro 9 (my primary DAW)?
I've found FF's 3D view to be very useful for debugging. Perfect for the times when you need to find that one div that is wide enough to cause horizontal scrollbars on your responsive design.
Or with friends and family: Friends => "I'm a back end web developer", Parents => "I'm a programmer", Grandparents => "I work with computers".
The U.S. is huge and spread out. Not everyone has the luxury of having all their needs within a 10 minute bike ride. We need that automobile infrastructure to get places so it makes sense that it is prioritized.
Are you female? They have tuition assistance for women. Apparently men don't need financial assistance...
Exactly. It is a business decision that each team makes. They need to decide if it is worth the extra man-hours and resources to appease a very small group of people who make a choice to turn off a big part of the web today. The best you can do is throw up a noscript message explaining why your app needs JavaScript.
Seems like it on most links posted. After reading the post and before viewing the comments I always say to myself in my head: "Ok, let's see why I should hate this."
Wow that looks great. Are there any benchmarks as to how much faster it is compared to a vanilla Rails app?
Maybe a little off topic... I just started a small project using Angular and Rails, learning both from scratch as I go. I am using Rails as a purely JSON server and handling all the templates in Angular and doing requests over $http. Is it worth using Angular just for the UI niceness and using more of Rails? I need things like authentication and sessions but at its roots it is a single page app. Would any of this new Rails 4 turbolinks stuff help?
I'd like the font size to be larger on mobile. But I agree with you about javascript. Those dynamic social buttons are horrible, multiple requests and 200kb+ additional data in some cases. All for a couple buttons that no one will use.
This is so true. Compared to Chrome's, Firefox's tools are just so clunky and an eyesore. I love the fact that Google is putting so much work into their tools and constantly improving them. I will give Firefox credit for having 3D view, that's pretty cool.
Do these still have time limits on them?
<meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no" /> or <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0 />
Same. A lot of people are sharing the link, maybe FB's spam protection is kicking in?
A module is a design pattern and a closure is a language construct. A module (in the context of the "module pattern") is a closure but all closures are not "modules".
They make a Windows version [1]. As some have said, I find the experience much better than other managers, mainly due to the browser extension.
Edit: oops, this is assuming you meant you were on Windows.

Doesn't need to be updates for the sake of updates. There are open pull requests and issues.

Ouch. I am in the process of starting my own business and plan to eventually be doing it full time. I am currently 24 so I'm guessing once I turn 26 I will need to buy my own insurance. Any freelancers/small-business owners have any advice on this once the ACA goes into effect?
Anyone know how long it would take for the 7.4 update to reach MacVim?
Too busy playing spin the pizza.
I don't think he wrote the Lifehacker article he linked to.
So as you find new tools you want to use, do you just update your develop box? Do you have an example of a Vagrantfile you used for a project?
I guess the main thing I can't get is say I have custom nginx settings or MySQL settings I need in a project. Do I setup those through Chef?
Thanks for the article, lots to look into.
