in Utah felony charges means potential prison time.

As far as what the current state of the world tells you, what would you have done then? Should Utah have dispatched assassins? They are taking the leaders of the company to criminal court. I can't believe I have to stand up for Utah here.

as well as all the other points everyone else made, less conspicuous ways to profit may also have upper bounds, even if a prediction market has upper bounds two sources of profit will probably allow you to profit more than one.

it is true that a smart operator may like to profit only in the less conspicuous way, but what would cause you to think that applied to Trump and his family?

I agree in the case of Huck Finn, but if you look at the slurs in Tom Sawyer there are not many and they are mostly inessential, which is funny because Tom Sawyer functions as a racist book, whereas Huck Finn is anti-racist.

I mean that would be the beginning sure, but the way the article sounds after he had understood that she wasn't up to anything and she was asking about the whole thing he went ahead and gave her a guided tour, which normally I would expect them just to "have a nice day, ma'am, if we have any further concerns we will be in touch"

why was this FBI guy so forthcoming with this lady about his agency's arguably civil rights abuses? I mean I guess it's good he was but on the other hand it seems a bit weird, given my experience with feds.

I suppose at some point you will have to have your device's camera on to confirm you really are interacting with the ads, but currently I can get stuff done during the ads by being in another window.

Elon is going to demand access to the Yellowstone Caldera pretty soon I'm guessing.

they didn't say "surely everybody does" they said "safe to assume all", when really what they should have said is "safe to assume any" meaning any that you encounter and consider using.

I think it makes sense as a reasonable heuristic going forward, assume the MVP was vibe coded or nearly vibe coded (a weeks worth of human / agent work together, then initial release)

if it was written "is thought" that would be wrong because it is not thought to be extinct, if it was written "was thought" then one would have the same problem of wondering who was doing that thinking.

The phrasing is pretty normal, however it might have been better handled with a comma between glider and thought - my personal preference.

This is one of the aesthetic qualities of English (the dropping of helping infinitives) that makes things like "Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" or "Police Police police Police" possible

I appreciate it as an example of the whimsical toleration of ambiguity common to English.

Although maybe it should have been "Tiny possum and glider thought: 'Extinct for 6,000 years!'"
