Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2025) on Monday September 29, 2025 @06:19PM (#45419524)
An ai system to help find the cure for multiple sclerosis https://gregory-ms.com/
It can be run locally, and uses docker. There is a setup.py script that guides you through the install process and asks for some environment variables.

The ideal setting is to install on a server with 4Gb of RAM.

Gardenfelder, thank you for asking. Gregory is meant to be installed as a server that fetches the new articles and runs pipelines that make sure the information is consistent. There are two machine learning algorithms that can be trained once you have a good dataset.

There is also an API that can be used to feed a website or newsletter, for example.

Right now, the caveat is that each field of research requires it’s own instance of the software.

It's not. There are plans to change the logo and illustration, but right now Baymax will have to do because he is also a "healthcare companion".

To be honest, there was more effort in all the backend stuff, and some friends helped me along the way.

I'm a digital communication strategist, so all the design and content took about 16 hours. The theme being used is from my old website and was I had built it around content-modules that can be mixed and matched.

Next step is to reach out to doctors and researchers in Neurology so that they can use it and guide the development of new features they might need.

Thank you for your comment.

If you mean the article’s author, that will be me

The site is only marginally aimed at developers, it is mostly for people in communication or marketing fields. Some of the ones I know are not even aware of the problem of content decay (lets call it that for now).

It is also about the mistakes the web community made while building the sites we use daily. Not assigning any blame, the web will always be uncharted territory.

Most of all, I wanted to write down that we saw good things being built. There are a lot of good reasons to keep moving forward.

Regarding tools, and as side note, that blog is running on https://goHugo.io , a static site generator, and uses the self hosted version of https://commento.io to manage comments. It’s my way of trying to make it future-proof.
