Very “funny” to hear you rail against unelected enemies of the people like bureaucrats, NGOs, academics etc and then wholeheartedly endorse a system in which unlimited executive power can be invested in someone who doesn’t even win a majority of the population’s vote. That’s your brain on fascism, I guess.
Look, if the most important thing to you is being civil to creeps with a political philosophy indistinguishable from Judge Taney, that’s fine, but have the decency not to run interference for them when others call them out for what they are.
That guy is an enthusiastic cheerleader for a fascist political movement, and your own comment history is full of instances where you correctly identify him as dissembling, dodging questions, and flat-out lying or misrepresenting the facts. Why are you so eager to make excuses and apologies for him?

How do feel about Brown v Board?
No, they can and will open your mail at will if they think something fishy is going on. USPS can’t open anything without a warrant.

Sorry, but if you take anything written by the Republican faction of the court at face value you’re either ignorant or foolish.
Re:US Supreme Court lifts ban on gun bump stocks on Friday June 14, 2024 @11:12AM (#40681629)
It needs to be kept in mind that this ruling is not really about so-called “gun rights” but part of the Right’s concerted attack on the ability of the federal government to tie the hands of private actors in any capacity. The goal is to gum up the works such that any dispute over any interpretation of technical language must come before a panel of (ideally right-wing, FedSoc) judges, rather than the technical experts vested by Congress with the power to make such interpretations.
Re:Elon Musk Is Absolutely Raging About the Trump Verdict on Tuesday June 04, 2024 @06:11PM (#40579482)
Yes, it was indeed bad when Petain decreed Reynaud's arrest and handed him over to the Nazis to be imprisoned in a concentration camp. It's unclear what connection this has with the conviction of Donald Trump by a jury of his peers for falsifying business records.
Well, you see, a woman disagreed with him. At that point the only reasonable response to go completely nuclear.
Being an undocumented resident is not a crime.

OpenAI said this work was done in conjunction with Microsoft’s long established threat intel center, these are almost certainly the code names Microsoft security intel teams have assigned to these actors. Threat actor naming is generally a mess and every company has a different naming scheme for the same cluster of indicators/ttps
I really don't understand this instinctive urge people have to grovel and simp for wealthy celebrities.

Musk is the owner and CEO of one of the most important defense contractors in the country. It is a matter of national strategic importance if he is spending his time coked out of his gourd or neck-deep in a k-hole.

Kara Swisher was basically working as Altman’s press secretary

You are in luck; skinny jeans are once again out of style and straight or flared legs are back in.
With any luck we'll go even further than that and confine him to a small metal box for a period of several years.

I think everyone figured that out when Hamish was going around promoting open white supremacist Richard Hanania
I'm having trouble parsing who you think is the wronged party here, but to be clear this fire official was going around bear spraying random innocuous homeless people before one of his victims fought back and beat him up.
This seems unfair to Hughes, who actually was an accomplished engineer and pilot and genuinely had a serious mental illness.
There seems to be a big uptick in the number of people who like to scold others for their family planning choices, especially women, and especially for choosing to delay beyond some particular threshold the scolder takes to be ideal (often representative of some imagined sepia toned traditional time). The truth is if you're reasonably affluent nearly all of these supposed downsides can be mitigated and are usually preferable to trying to take care of kids on a shoestring budget while still building a professional and economic foundation.
nah its a big fat nothing-burger cooked up by a giant rich baby and a couple of right-wing polemecists
Re:Thomas Pynchon, famously private, sells his archive on Friday December 16, 2022 @06:24PM (#34022040)
Jules Siegel, Pynchon's college friend and roommate, once wrote that "...you have to accept the fact that Tom’s grasp of things that he glibly sets down as if he were a master of the material is usually quite superficial, based on reading anything from, say, Bible Comics to learned journals. This is not a criticism, but a description."

Of course, Siegel was maybe not the most reliable informant, given that Pynchon also famously slept with his wife.

There is zero evidence that Joseph Kennedy was ever involved in bootlegging except the much, much later claims of various extremely unreliable mafia figures.
It remains very funny that he paid forty-five billion dollars for the privilege of humiliating himself daily with these petulant temper-tantrums. Amazing bit.

This would cover LibsOfTikTok, but not ElonJet

If you believe anything Musk says for longer than a microsecond I have an NFT of the Brooklyn Bridge I'd like to sell you.

Definitely believe this self-justifying story made up on the spot by a notoriously inveterate liar.
Because the whole purpose of the exercise is to manufacture right-wing agitprop, not an actual good-faith effort to provide transparency to the public?
