Re:Conversation history using OpenAI API on Thursday January 05, 2023 @03:13AM (#34257274)
I was messing around with the Open AI Api today, embedding the conversation history in the request to OpenAI, so that text-davinci-003 can be aware of conversation context like chatGPT.

Something like: request_open_ai = "Previously we have said: #{@old_history_joined}. #{@prompt}"

“Is there a deeper truth in Nike's famous adage of "Just Do It"?

The term mindset has become common in everyday use. There is a certain romance to the idea that if we can somehow just change our mindset everything will fall into place.”

This is a complete misinterpretation. It is a shoe company, they mean to do it, not mindset about it.

I am trying to start a local 3D printing business, where a lot of basic parts or things people need can be made locally with Amazon style 2-day delivery. The order just goes to someone in your area who is certified to make stuff. I think this could massively help our global logistics and waste problems, and be a boon to local economies. https://HeyRobot.org Please get in touch if anyone is interested in joining in this project. I work on it nights and weekends… No VCs, just me and some friends coding.
Yeah let me know when this is possible!
Very cool!! Is there a way to search for 3D model types? Like STLs or GLB files? I am creating an API over at https://heyrobot.org for 3D models... mostly for 3D printing, but would be awesome to reference any 3D models on SimpleHash on HeyRobot, so people can view them in 3D.

I would just call it “reading” instead of “studying philosophy”

Re:Ask HN: How close are we to 100% voice controlled UIs? on Thursday April 15, 2021 @10:04PM (#26828539)
Seems like someone would just need to make all the correct shortcuts, or set of voice commands, I think the problem is reconfiguration and customization maybe?
There may not be many, but there are some upsides. It may incentivize small inventors who believe there will be a value for their invention even if they themselves are not capable of productizing it. Shouldn’t they be rewarded by being able to sell their creation to the patent troll?
Have you tried the caves?
