I had a chance to handle one of these and this is exactly what I expected from a smart phone, absolutely fantastic and the level of open source on the driver level is elite.

Here is an interesting project. Milling PCBs though may not get the fine pitch required for some SMD parts.

This works great for single and potentially two later boards, the problem is when scale up to 4 layer and beyond boards. For quick turn production level boards I have used https://www.allpcb.com, JLPCB takes a day or so longer than ALLPCB in my experience.

It's helpful to find your first customer. Someone that believes in you and your skills. I'd be more than willing to be your first customer if you could provide some examples of your work.

Great work! This looks very promising. Blackmagic Design has a green screen keyer and it costs $10,000.00 USD https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/ultimatte

Your project from first glance looks as good or even better than this overly expensive component. Even factoring in the cost of an RTX 2080 and entire gaming rig is less expensive.

What tech stack did you use?

Wanted to chime in. We currently OEM a product to Purell (GOJO) on exactly this concept. Albeit additional hardware is required, we have been extremely successful locating staff and monitoring of dispensers with BLE.

Our goal has been to prevent the spread of infection in hospitals by monitoring hand hygiene compliance.

I have had really good luck with these boards. http://nanopi.io/nanopi-neo-air.html

$20 but they do not need a permanent SD card and they need a heat sink. The Allwinner CPU's seem to get much hotter than the Raspi Broadcoms. The issues I have experienced really have been nuances of the Linux distros but very workable.

I am using a custom Nordic implementation to use them for ranging with a WIFi bridge. The biggest reason is to track small coin cell BLE tags along with detection for smartphones and the like.
