Ask HN: Can I realistically make an app as a junior dev?

I'm trying to make an app to help out my local community, but with the intention of scaling it at some point and serving a much wider community. It's a complex app with a lot of moving parts, and as a junior dev with little experience in some of the technologies I'm using, I'm going to be relying heavily on Claude. However, I know generally, Claude is only as strong as the developer using...

Full-stack software engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems and building systems that are reliable, maintainable, and useful. My experience spans full-stack development, API integrations, workflow automation, and quality engineering, and I'm particularly drawn to understanding complex systems and improving how they work.

I am extremely analytical and logical, but also very creative, socially outgoing, and comfortable operating across a very wide range of disciplines. (For example, although I am a strong coder, I also have excellent oral and written communication.) Because I think in terms that are concrete but conceptual, I excel both in technical and non-technical environments, and beyond software development, I've also been involved in workflow automation, technical communication, and QA. I'm a very fast learner and I'm always willing to explore new technologies/better ways of doing things.

Location: NYC

Remote: Happy to do either remote or hybrid

Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: Java Spring Boot, TypeScript, Angular, SQL, MongoDB, Python

It's not a good enough economy for us to be able to do anything. It's not like, if things don't work, we can switch to another job/industry. Many industries are struggling right now, and employers know this. They are cutting costs any way they can in order to stay in business, and we're the recipients of that.
Probably. I do wonder whether there will be some legislation about needing to register a "hit" on a site if AI goes in there and does some digging, instead of a user. You're essentially sending a messenger in to do a task.
