Re:AI Has No Wisdom and Neither Will You on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @08:48AM (#49800394)
I have more than 15 years in the industry. I have worked in some of the most horrendous codebase someone has ever conceived. Honestly? Humans can do worst than AI.

Let's stop overvaluing human work. Sure, I don't want AI to write the entire codebase without I know what the fuck it did.

But AI is on an equal footing with an average dev.

He forgot to mention to build a small database (DBMS). For me, the big 3 projects are: 1. computer language (I already did), 2. Small operation system and 3. a small database (DBMS).

Is it time for a “not enough just running” manifesto?

Recently I read some articles (https://blog.royalsloth.eu/posts/it-takes-a-phd-to-develop-that/, https://www.zdnet.com/article/another-reason-why-developers-are-quitting-to-escape-from-your-bad-code/, to name a few) about the quality of software and that made me to wonder: is it time for a "not enough just running" manifesto?IMHO, it is about damn time!

Node input function is broken

It has been 10 years since Node.js first release (according to wikipedia, at least). And it has been a long journey since then. We went from everything asynchronous world to everything async/await world.but seriously, it time for us to reflect about the basics...Every normal computer programming language in this planet has a input/output function. When you're learning every normal computer...

Ask HN: What features would you add in a computer language?

I was having a discussion with my co-workers about cool features to add in a computer language. V8's Ignition and TurboFan pipeline: can we finally compile js – bytecode – vm?

Javascript is no longer a toy language and now it reaches beyond the browser environment. But, as a developer, I fear shipping my code because it can be easily seen and copied. I wish there was something equivalent to Java's bytecode in JS. I know there are some alternatives, but I don't feel confident about them.
