Did you not watch the keynote where they highlighted that Unity is a development partner?

Sam has a pretty active Twitter account. Apparently a movie is also supposedly in the works. https://twitter.com/samantar
The tone of this article feels like fear-mongering. There are bioplastics which are less harmful on the environment, are compostable and sourced from 100% renewable and sustainable sources. Some bioplastics like PLA are biocompatible; sutures and tea bags are made from it. We're still in the early stages of this technology and it seems premature to tar everything with such a broad brush.
This was happening to me on Instagram as well. Using CloudFlare WARP+ and Instagram would deactivate my account arbitrarily. Figured it out only when I turned it off and the issues went away.

Michael Young who coined the word, commented about it almost exactly 20 years ago.

This is a good argument that it isn't a monopoly.

I owned 3 Xbox 360s which all failed due to cooling issues aka Red Ring of Death. More power to Sony if it results in a more reliable system.

They're worse. Please, identify a modern car factory that builds cars in a tent.

Re:Tesla whistleblower breaks his silence on Saturday August 08, 2020 @04:44AM (#24090111)
Martin Tripp was a Tesla employee who was fired for whistleblowing. He saw that Tesla was taking short cuts to increase production at the expense of safety and leaked the info to the press. In retaliation, he had his phone and computer hacked. They even SWATted him and claimed he was going to shoot people at the factory despite having: 1) private investigators having him under surveillance even after office hours 2) knowing his location at all times through his hacked phone.

Russ Mitchell is an automotive reporter with the LA Times. His tweet says Tripp’s testimony matches his sources within the company about battery issues. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ufszQCn2iueNVPWTkgQi39YNd4z...

Your point is well-taken, but to put things into perspective… $136 billion is a <1% move in Apple's market cap.
Re:Apple Silicon: The Passing of Wintel on Monday July 13, 2020 @12:43AM (#23817250)
The fault lies entirely on your previous company's management.

As Buffett says, "price is what you pay, value is what you get." Your ex-co failed to provide reasons why customers should pay for the value it offers.

Apple excels at this, despite naysayers saying that a premium consumer electronics is a "bad business".

Someone help me understand this. If China and India get into a conflict, doesn't that mean each side would be trying to get the other's exports banned? Which means, effectively, Foxconn is handicapping itself?
Seems like an AirTable/PowerApps competitor, but an early version which means the polish isn't there. Personally I prefer Coda.
Re:On Contact Tracing and Hardware Tokens on Tuesday June 23, 2020 @09:09PM (#23622711)
> Furthermore, Person 2 is a hidden node from Person 4, as Person 2 is not within Person 4’s set of immediate notification contacts.

This is the system working as designed. What purpose would be served that Person 4 needs to know Person 2 was also a contact of Person 1? It's not a perfect system, but this is a strawman argument.

The Google/Apple system isn't perfect, and relies on people behaving like responsible adults. The real world isn't like that, as the Corrupted Blood bug shows.

Re:Jim Keller Resigns from Intel, Effective Immediately on Friday June 12, 2020 @06:20AM (#23497777)
Moving to ARM is enough of a technical challenge, doubt they would want to divert even more resources to supporting AMD.

Read the article, please. Author said nice things about his workplace & its leadership (AWS). But he could not bear to see unfair treatment and so he quit.
Even the "killing people" part is also contracted out.

Just because I know how a car works mechanically doesn't mean I'm inclined to build a fleet of my own.
Re:Apple may have to abandon Lightning connector cable on Thursday January 16, 2020 @08:20PM (#22070955)
You can't make a determination of connector dimensions based on device specs, because they're not strongly correlated.

The simplest explanation is that Lightning came out before USB-C did, and Apple did not want to risk another PR backlash from getting everyone to move to it after they'd just switched from the 30-pin connector cable.

Why do I "have" to see ads? When I watch live theater, do the performers segue into a paid endorsement? The online ad industry as it currently exists, is too intrusive and the data it collects about us, are too much and permanent. It is past time for a change.
Re:The Political History of Pad Thai on Wednesday January 08, 2020 @08:35PM (#21997670)
You've got the geographic regions mixed up. Northern Chinese refer it to "cha", while Southern Chinese call it "te" (sounds like tailor). Even though India is geographically closer to southern China, they got the word from Portuguese.

Re:The Amazon Premium on Thursday December 19, 2019 @07:33PM (#21840751)
I'm spending literally a fraction of your budget and that is my amateurish assessment as well. AWS Console can be better but the Azure dashboard could've been from the 90s. I had a hard time navigating it.
