Re:ChatGPT Health Is a Marketplace, Guess Who Is the Product? on Saturday January 10, 2026 @03:23PM (#46569567)
How does, say, refrigeration create dependence and limit freedom?

What are we “supposed” to be like?

I mean… you don’t need to look very hard. Smart phones? Google Maps?

Is your life not enhanced by these products?

This... is so silly.
This brings me such joy, thanks for sharing.
Re:A 12-week plan to learn Jazz guitar on Tuesday December 17, 2024 @10:30PM (#42447885)
A 12-week self-guided curriculum with suggested theory, exercises and song repertoire. Progress state is stored in the URL query string.
This seems obvious and is how I have always understood it. How is this not the case? Where is time treated like a tangible entity?
Re:You Are Not Dumb, You Just Lack the Prerequisites on Sunday August 25, 2024 @03:15AM (#41345154)
I was an inner city “gifted kid” - although I’m proud of what I have accomplished so far, I feel like my potential was stifled, as you said mis-handled. I’m very interested in helping inner city gifted kids today unlock their full potential. How could I start?
We should. why /s?
Re:Show HN: A Dalle-3 and GPT4-Vision feedback loop on Monday November 27, 2023 @11:55PM (#38442472)
Does anyone else experience a physical reaction to AI generated art that resembles repulsion and disgust? Something about it just feels “wrong”. Something I can compare it to is the feeling of unexpectedly seeing an extremely moldy thing in your fridge. It feels alive and invasive in an inhuman and horrifying way.

Not the same, BTC can't be created / devalued at will.

This is reductive. It may bear some resemblance to cash but it's more like a voucher, and the actual value is transferred on an immutable ledger. Wish Hacker News wasn't so curmudgeonly about crypto and actually tried to imagine the multitude of ways it would improve society if adopted.
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I wholeheartedly agree.
Re:The Rise and Fall of Clubhouse on Thursday November 25, 2021 @07:12AM (#29340663)
I remember when I tried Clubhouse. I joined some room that was recommended to me, endured about 5 minutes of Naval enjoying the sound of his own voice, then deleted the app forever.
Re:Ask HN: Best way to find cofounder organically? on Thursday November 25, 2021 @06:39AM (#29340474)
What is this, LinkedIn?
I did this. Started a drop shipping business with friends. That didn’t pan out. Then tried to build a startup. That didn’t pan out either, so I started consulting. It was fine, but consulting and full time employment are really two sides of the same coin. I figured I might as well get the benefits and equity that come with full time roles. Since quitting I have more than doubled my previous salary, and gained a ton of front end knowledge I never would have learned just by working at my old job.

Love the idea of reprimanding uncool behavior, but I don’t think this can truly be anonymous. The recruiter will surely have some idea of who sent the message.
