> It's not absurd to think that a company would use its own harness or an open source harness and/or put a proxy in to route requests variably. For two months, they have engineers using different models unbeknownst to them and they measure things like how often the engineers have to correct or redirect the model. At the end of two months, they might find little difference in performance and switch to a much lower cost model.
That's a great product idea!
> All of his comments boil down to purist opinions
not even that, it is just an obsession and disconnection from reality. There are multiple benefits from not using frontend frameworks, React is really, really bad. He doesn't understand that the correct way tho he is right by pure coincidence.
You are not the only one. It is funny because initially I found his opinion slightly interesting as I dislike React and all frontend frameworks but my solution was to create my own. When you do more than 2 projects using the same base you have a framework. He can't realize that.
We had this discussion in the past and at the time you were not ashamed to show this code of yours. I told you it is bad. It is really impressive that you talk so high of your programming skills on every JS thread tho. And it is not AI psychosis although it is very similar.
Let's make it simple. Is there any other code that is open source that it is as good as yours that you can point us to it?
I wish I could work in a place like that! Any open position? :)
Let's hope this is the future of Software Development. There is so much to create yet.
> I use functions for what you describe. I don't need a framework to accomplish reuse.
A framework is composed of many reusable functions. You are really confused, arguing for this nonstop on HN for years. Not sure what you get from this but as someone mentioned, just show us the code and what you call a complex system developed your way. Code talks.
And after you do it 2 or 3 times you extract the repetitive work into a framework. Not sure if you have never got to that phase but it is quite weird to see a programmer that does not like (or understand) abstractions.
No, react is a framework composed by countless react-* packages.
Is the "troll" still working there?
well let's see. The first dsh they released sucks, really really bad incomplete harness.
LoC *IS* the metric. It is obviously not perfect tho but still the best one to compare software surface. Including to compare the same solution in different languages and platforms. The less code you need to manage, the less code you need to change and the less code you need to hold in your head to understand it (or in the LLM context nowadays).
An "optimized" solution for a React-only problem.
US troll factories are just called social media. That's the one that tried to influence the Brazilian election in favor of the BolsoJr
I do my part flagging everything he posts but it seems HN has its favorites that are allowed to break the rules.
I for one flag everything I see him posting because his extreme positions hurts our country. It is crazy HN doesn't rate-limit how much he can post and people posting technical stuff can post like 4 comments then get blocked.
probably not in the first 2 years with the current Senate president but then next it is less clear. There are 3 conservative judges also involved in the banco Master scandal case so let's see how it ends.
Absolutely. Janones won this election. Let's see if he will be part of the government or will be sidelined again.
Really unexpected.
Polymarket was like 80% Bolsonaro Jr to 20% Lula 7pm, 7:15 it changed to 60% Lula. There were multiple reports in the news websites about it favoring Bolsonaro which itself probably made some people vote for him.
I'm quite happy with the result tho. Let's see how the far right opposition will take this loss. I'm already expecting the worse.
call it GoogleBrotli2Shell then.
Someone needs to be responsible for integrating the LLMs and reporting the results to the company. It is at least one job role in every serious project.
Brazil is a beautiful place to bike. It would be great if it was a bit safer tho.
Not sure if this is benchmarkable besides for the own person deciding which one they like more. Models difference is more about taste, preferences and prompt style.
a rise in criminality is bad for society.
> Ok homie, deep breaths, you're among friends.
There is no need for that. Running an agent in your computer gives RCE to a third party, this is obviously insecure, and it is very hard to make it secure, just a VM or a VPS is not enough.
Creating your own agent with just the model API, not the agent, might be easier to secure as you control the system prompt.
My biggest worry now is what's going to happen with the amount of unemployed software developers seeing these vulnerabilities and not making enough money to pay the bills.

I used to think that until I started using DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 for the past 2 days (what a bad name). It is terribly fast! And smart. And cheap.
This attitude is what needs to change if we are going to be serious about security. Everything needs to be checked.
Just the ReactFiberWorkLoop.js has 5k+ lines of code. React is one or two orders of magnitude bigger than you are thinking. And that's not counting Nextjs.
