Ask HN: Add .user-{username} class to posts?
That would allow user blocking through Adblock.
Ask HN: Release personal HN activity logs?
HN is a site you fall back on when you don't feel like working, and measuring how often that happens could yield interesting insights. The trouble is, it's a hard thing to consciously measure because you get self-conscious. Would it be possible for dang and the others to release data, if it was ever collected, about individual users' history of activity?

Ask HN: What to do as a programmer about to go homeless
I'm a full stack freelance web developer with several projects all heavily delayed. Meanwhile I'm living overseas in a country where I don't know anyone (Vancouver, British Columbia), have $60 USD left in my bank account, and only have rent paid for another 2 days (at a hostel). Food here is pretty expensive and runs about $15/day even if you really try to save, especially if you don't have a...

Ask HN: What can you ask freelance programmers to find out how good they are?
This is different from finding out how good ordinary programmers are. When you hire a long-term programmer you want someone brilliant. But when people hire freelancers what they often want is just someone who'll reliably implement their plan. What can you ask freelance programmers to find out if they can do that?
Ask HN: Is it actually necessary to make users "accept your terms" at signup?
Nowadays it's (thank God) becoming standard practice to make forms as short as possible. However, I still see signup forms that make users "accept the terms and conditions." Is this necessary? Will you get sued for infinite amounts of money if you don't include this? Is it worth making the user click an extra time?

Ask HN: How do you push your code to your server?
Most people write code on localhost then push to servers after testing. How do you do the second part? I've heard of git push, rsync, ftp, etc. I also know some people who just edit the code directly on the server over ssh. What do you do? And how often do you push out code-- every few lines, or every hundred lines, etc.?

Ask HN: What'd you do to get your first 100 users?
I've never done any kind of user acquisition besides posting to Reddit and HN. I realize that this is, needless to say, not a working strategy. What do you people do?
