Mostly a lot of establishment bashing because 'they' are dumb and he is not. There are competing theories about the emergence of farming, even if not as fast as often stated it was still a profound revolution.
Not 100% science but typically: length of name and number of words are biggest factors. Category can matter as well - eg 'crypto' names are very hot at the moment.
All of this except Django, overkill for many small and mid sized projects. I use a lightweight Bottle/uwsgi api to get json into _underscore templates. Up and running in ten mins :)
I rely on word of mouth and random visitors for sales. With very little time, interest or expertise (in marketing) my approach is quite basic - offer domains that I would buy for my own projects and be humane with pricing. The extent of my customer strategy can be summed up in: if a customer has a good experience they will tell a friend. If they have a bad experience they will tell 10. I'm not trying to build an empire with Brandfountain, small is perfect for me as I am very busy with another project.
https://brandfountain.comI have curated a stellar portfolio of brandable domains geared to startup community, allows me to dev other projects without raising seed. I succeed by being flexible/sympathetic with early stage companies, expect to reach six digit sales on almost autopilot.

I have been where you are, more than once. This is the true path of an entrepreneur and not for the feint of heart. I used to tell people that doing a startup is like being perpetually 'half way through the desert and out of water'. There's no turning back and no easy way forward.
My advice is to stay the course and scrape by. Scrounge, beg, delay, do whatever it takes to get over the next hill. A nine to five job will not solve any of your current problems in spite of its appeal. What's worse a high profile role will exhaust you leaving little or nothing left for your project.
By persevering you will impress investors and future employees with your ability to endure and commitment to your goals. Don't give up, never surrender and kick a little harder - you will succeed.
And when you do succeed, people will tell you how lucky you are!

Careful what you wish for, 'passive income' can take on a life of its own.
I jumped into the branded domain aftermarket thinking it is the perfect passive income business to support my primary project. After a building a retail site and acquiring a bunch of quality domains the sales trickled in. So did the inquiries and customer support tickets. As sales increased so did the demand on my time. Now I have to choose between a fledgling/growing passive side business or (more likely) flip it and focus on my main biz.
The lesson is its hard to serve two masters, no matter how easy the math looks. Unless your Elon Musk.
