I'm being paid to write Kotlin at the moment. I _still_ prefer modern Java and it's what I use for personal stuff.

Speaking as someone with terminal upgraditis, I've been satisfied with Debian testing. It's what I run now.
Re:Why I Prefer RST to Markdown on Wednesday July 31, 2024 @02:22PM (#41121801)
Sure, for quick throwaway notes or messaging apps Markdown is fine. But if I'm gonna sit down and write a proper document? I prefer handcrafting HTML.
You get exercise living your life

Something I've realized after moving to a walkable neighborhood is that you interact with your neighbors more because you run into them as you go about. Cars are isolating. Walking about builds community.

No car maintenance. No insurance. No gas.

You don't have to deal with traffic or parking

I still keep a car because it's the status quo but if I had to replace it I wouldn't

Personally, I only appreciated the value of a walkable neighborhood after I moved to one. Now I _never_ want to go back.

Cars and driving are awful

It screwed Android users over though, no?
I use Google Messages. I assumed that was what you were using too. Messages settings - RCS chats - Send read receipts and Show typing indicators.
You can disable read receipts and typing indicators without disabling RCS
I love programming in Java!

I find modern Java an absolute joy to program in. Kotlin doesn't solve any major problems I have with Java.
