I'm using Motion for Google Chrome, you could try that out as well. In my opinion it's more thought through than blocksite.

Ask HN: How do you manage screen time?

I wonder how you are handling your screen time. If I'm beeing productive besides work, everything usually revolves about beeing in front of a screen (coding side projects, learning or research about a specific topic online etc.)

Re:Thoughts On a Year of Exercise on Friday December 27, 2019 @08:24PM (#21896383)

So what do you do then the whole day when you’re just hunting short term results?
Re:Thoughts On a Year of Exercise on Thursday December 26, 2019 @07:29PM (#21888076)

Jesus, why does imgur not load the image on full resolution on mobile view (literally the only thing I expect them doing right)

Ask HN: Would you mentor other people for free?

I've asked this myself sometimes already. A lot of knowledgeable developers are using Stackoverflow to give advice and help solving other peoples problems - for free. Revealing the bullshit is really fun. Can you add a feature where it somehow tells you which word it replaced?
Re:Ask HN: Who Wants to Be Fired? on Thursday October 03, 2019 @11:18AM (#21148013)
Thanks for enlightening me on the technologies of the 21st century. Maybe I meant if it‘s actually possible/makes sense to sue him because of an impossible deadline? Who knows
Re:Ask HN: Who Wants to Be Fired? on Thursday October 03, 2019 @04:08AM (#21144739)
Is this actually possible?
Re:Global Illumination in WebGL on Wednesday October 02, 2019 @01:53AM (#21133728)
Yes it has a free tier: for public projects.
Re:Global Illumination in WebGL on Tuesday October 01, 2019 @05:38PM (#21130980)
Honestly, Unity WebGL GI looks way better and probably is also easier to integrate into your mesh modelling/texturing workflow.

edit: plus unity is basically free to use

I didn't mean to make a personal offense, just that this shouldn't be the normal.
Re:My Time at Snap on Tuesday October 01, 2019 @09:55AM (#21125339)
That was a really good read, consider writing more articles like this one, you have talent to keep things interesting even for such a long text.
Re:How Firebase Interviewed Software Engineers on Friday September 27, 2019 @03:56AM (#21089525)
If you have so little spare time, something is running completely wrong. I understand that people don't want to spend their spare time on these kind of projects but not even considering it because lack of time really should ring your bells to cut down with work.
yeah i missed that, it works perfectly fine!
is there a way to actually skip the sponsorship without doing it manually or am i missing something?
you cant be serious
