You absolutely should trust wikipedia unless you can provide some evidence to the contrary; in fact, the linked article even has a whole section to support your doubt about the claim*('s veracity), which was interesting to read!

From: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gendered_associations_of_pink_...

> In a 2017 letter to Archives of Sexual Behavior, researcher Marco Del Giudice commented on earlier claims about a supposed shift in pink–blue color associations or preferences sometime around the 1940s, from pink for boys and blue for girls before that period, to the opposite alignment afterward. He summarized his earlier work from 2012 which found "no evidence of either reversed or inconsistent usage prior to the 1940s".[41] Del Giudice called this theory the "Pink–blue reversal" (PBR), and said it was "usually attributed to [Jo] Paoletti", and quoted from five academic articles that reprised the theory of "pink is for boys" prior to the 1940s. However, he found upon analysis that it was exceptionally difficult to actually document such a shift, and exclaimed upon "the thinness of the evidence presented in support of the PBR".[42]

> In his 2012 paper, Del Giudice quoted from four articles published in academic journals which all echoed the claims about PBR theory, many relying on Paoletti, including Chiu et al., 2006: "Prior to that decade, Paoletti ... noted that the sex-dimorphic color coding of pink and blue was inverted, i.e., infant boys were dressed in pink and infant girls were dressed in blue";[43] Frassanito & Pettorini (2008): "At one point, pink was considered more of a boy's color ... blue was considered more for girls";[44] Cohen (2013): "the current stereotypical American assignment of pink to girls and blue to boys was reversed a century ago";[45] and Zucker (2005): "Yet, in the first two decades of the twentieth century, there is evidence that the gender-dimorphic nature of these two colors was inverted, that is, blue was judged to be stereotypically feminine whereas pink was judged to be stereotypically masculine."[46][47] But Paoletti never made the claim that pink and blue reversed, only that there was inconsistent usage that took until the 1950s to resolve[42] starting from the first appearances of gendered pink and blue color associations around the 1860s.[7]

tl;dr - gender is very clearly a social construct and we shouldn't get hung up on colors or names

Off-topic, but why does your username have a slur (e.g., "foid") used by incels in it?
Re:US boy names that became girl names and vice versa on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:16PM (#50341090)
I'm not sure what you mean by "natural" coloring, but the association you're describing has also reversed over time; i.e., pink was considered masculine and blue was considered feminine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gendered_associations_of_pink_...

You haven’t provided “evidence” or proven anyone wrong, and you’re the only one here name-calling.

It’s after 5pm on a Friday. Chill out and enjoy your weekend.

For New Hampshire, they did have two Republicans representing only about ten years ago. See for yourself here -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire%27s_congressiona...

Now, considering their redistricting happened in 2010 and 2022, perhaps their voters simply felt it appropriate to change. But what could’ve occurred in 2016 to convince people that Republicans suck? Maybe electing a guy that wants to figuratively fuck working class Americans and literally fuck his own daughter left a bad taste in their mouth.

Strange response. Bertrand Russel comes to mind here, though - that which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

Wanna convince me? Substantiate your implied claim.

Yes, exactly what the Apple article highlights! Appreciate the extra context.

CLI-based activity references etc/ssl/cert.pem. While they say this will be updated in the future (likely the next dot release), admins can also proactively remove the eMudhra entries.

> they prioritize those who are bigger dangers

Then why is the administration revoking immigration status, and we have evidence that a significant portion of those detained have zero criminal background? Worse, why are you acting as an apologist for fascist and xenophobic policies?

And what do you call targeting people based on their skin color?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/09/10/immi...

The framing applied here in this comment is very odd. People are allowed to organize and assemble.

One might even go a step further and say people are obligated to do so when the government repeatedly abuses its power to intimidate and violently affect the lives of people without due process or cause.

Same here - I genuinely thought this would have been easily, and almost immediately, remediated vis-a-vis CRLs. I'm not in the vuln management space anymore, but is there some sort of caching system used which would affect software differently than a typical browser?

Editing to add a link to this Apple support article which is unsurprisingly detailed - https://support.apple.com/en-us/149555

Calling something hypocritical and dishonest isn't an ad hominem, even if it hurts your feelings and hits close to home.

"My empathy is with legal immigrants [...]"

Sure, pal. And Kristi Noem is empathetic towards family pets. Good luck out there!

Re:ICE Planning $100M 'Nightmare' Domestic Spy Program on Monday October 19, 2026 @03:38PM (#50157028)
> "They are cleansing the country of outsiders [...]"

This is racist nonsense, and it's not a debate. Good luck out there!

Racist nonsense emitted from a mentality broken by fear and propaganda.
Re:ICE Planning $100M 'Nightmare' Domestic Spy Program on Thursday October 15, 2026 @04:03PM (#50109474)
Ew, bootlicking hypocrisy and dishonesty in broad daylight. Nope!

You claim:

> This is disingenuous. The problem is not "filming" ICE agents.

Except here we have it straight from the dog-shooter’s mouth:

> Kristi Noem said, "Violence is anything that threatens them and their safety, so it is doxing them, it's videotaping them where they're at when they're out on operations, encouraging other people to come […]

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/trump-administration-say...

Moving on. You claim:

> No; at most they evidence that people claiming to be citizens have been deported.

And a five second google query yields:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2026/09/06/us-cit...

I would recommend you try and detach from your currently-held beliefs and re-evaluate these events through a more empathetic and constitutional lens.

No, their attribution is much more robust than this. Neglecting those details to oversimplify your explanation is intellectually dishonest.

They do, just a little later in that same section: "Both samples use a COM hijack for persistence [...]" through a malicious DLL.

of course not, that kind of racism is ingrained even in the original constitution. progress has been made in the last 200 or so years, but not without near-constant opposition from bigots along the way - something we see plainly even today.
Re:ICE Planning $100M 'Nightmare' Domestic Spy Program on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @04:34PM (#50094765)
The word citizen is intentionally absent from the text of the amendment. Bill of rights applies to all persons*, not just citizens.
Shallow dismissals and low-effort responses are not in the spirit of this site; please try to better substantiate your ideas.
Re:What's Earth's dominant species by mass? on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @12:59PM (#49995552)
Sure, there are caveats. But the current estimate is quite a bit more scientifically-backed than shaking tree branches and extrapolating from there - which, funny enough, seems like the foundation for one of the cited publications attempting to counter the claim of beetle diversity: "Remarkable fly (Diptera) diversity in a patch of Costa Rican cloud forest".
Re:What's Earth's dominant species by mass? on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @05:48PM (#49984607)
No, it’s because beetles have the most diversity of any animal order.

“The Coleoptera, with about 400,000 described species, is the largest of all orders, constituting almost 40% of described arthropods and 25% of all known animal species…”

First paragraph of the wiki article! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beetle

Re:IANA's email about why example.com changed on Thursday October 01, 2026 @11:31AM (#49923030)
It may be like how some country listings are implemented: United States / English first, then the rest alphabetically.

This is followed here: English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish.

Unfortunately, it seems uBO on Safari/iOS needs to get with it! The native “hide distracting items” feature does allow you to select and remove it, though.
Perhaps more frustratingly, if you bite the bullet and browse the "new" version on your mobile browser, the page will eventually become non-responsive and have ~60% of your screen covered by a bottom banner that prompts you to download their app to continue. It's like they are actively trying to kill their userbase.
