Disclaimer: I am no Statistics master but I'm passionate about Statistics, I'll try my 2 cents on this.

In hindsight, I think I should have reordered the values on the horizontal axis by weekdays, Mon-Sun. If I did so, we would have seen that diagram as some sort of distribution looking like the Gaussian distribution, with the center on Friday. With that in mind, I'd say it's natural that people spend more time on HN during the weekend and that it's only natural that people are inclined to post here on those days. So my opinion is that more posts appear on HN during the weekend, so the probability that a popular post appears on these days is greater than any other day. Still, that's just my rambling and I'd be super happy to hear some other opinions.

Thank you very much for mentioning that to me, I didn’t realize that. I’ll make sure I’ll respect this in the future

Ask HN: What tools do you use to follow blogs you enjoy reading

I couldn’t find a piece of software that I can use to follow the blogs that I enjoy reading. I don’t enjoy subscribing to email newsletters and bookmarks simply don’t work for me because I forget about them. I would like some notifications from time to time and if it’s a free tool, even better for me.

Mine is https://programmerbackpack.com/ — I write about ML and NLP. It’s kind of new, but I use it to document what I learn while I study these two awesome topics. So if you are kind of a beginner in these fields, maybe my blog can help you.

I’m working on ProgrammerBackpack. It’s my blog, started it 2 months ago and I write about Machine Learning and programming stuff, mostly tutorials. Recently I started doing a thing where I approach every subject in 2 parts, I call them “mini-series of 2”: one where I write about the theory, the math or the intuition behind a model and one where we play with implementation on a small dataset.

It’s fun and I love writing and I try my best to write as much as I can.

Here’s the blog in case anyone wants to see it:
