Maybe attack drones that can shoot string - since practically every drone uses rotors.
As for the executives, they will probably hide behind limited liability. Getting the US to hand them over will not be easy.
A decade in prison is twice 5 years. That’s a lot of time to waste.
Edit: Guess downvotes are abused here too ...
Edit2: Would be interesting to see how low this post will go. Guess some people don’t like their abusing of the moderation system called out.
If GS refuses to pay, the best they can do is ban them from the country. What else can they do, seriously?
Guess the iPhone X’s full screen design was a hit - seen quite a few people on the train here with them; I’m quite surprised given the pricing of the iPhone X line, guess there are more more with cash to spare than I thought.
Maybe even some people bought the iPhone X for the gaming performance.
Not to mention, people could just start a separate company if they absolutely need to do business in Malaysia.
I suppose it’s good from a rehabilitation perspective but it’s kind of weak as a deterrent - where 10 years might be more appropriate.
Democracy has many problems but it’s fairly robust vs discontent. Got a problem? Try to vote out the people you believe caused it. It keeps violent overthrows at bay - most of the time.
If you are a cynic, the best part about democracies is there is a much lower chance of violent overthrows - much easier to just wait it out and vote the current leaders out next election; barring an extremely corrupt leader whose existence is irreparably damaging the country - and that’s pretty much one of the few good things about it.
Leaders trade absolute power for not having to watch their backs as closely.
I speak with an accent so it was always hit and miss for me - although it had gotten better in recent years.
I’m also too lazy to talk ...
(It happens. I took a break from work for 3 weeks due to chicken pox. Totally forgot all my passwords.)
If the landlord could find a better tenant, WeWork would have zero chance to rent any of it.
Can those projects work without a blockchain? Would it be cheaper to just handle stuff with (digital) signatures and old fashion contracts?
Not sure where you heard that because Intel’s CPUs have different feature sizes among the layers. It’s done to cut cost.
There is a downside to “glued-together” CPUs as Zen has demonstrated - their L3 cache is splitted and connected by a relatively slow connection.
I hope Intel continues to make “non-split” CPUs where all cores have equal access to single huge L3 cache.
As for moving components off die ... IIRC the Pentium Pro has its L2 cache on a different die but in the same package and the Pentium 2 went even further with the L2 cache on a daughterboard. This isn’t new to anyone.
Sounds like credit default swaps ... you pay a premium until expiration (you get nothing) or some credit event happens (e.g. default; you get a payout). Difference seems to be the conditions for a payout.
I tried to like it ... it isn’t horrible but it hasn’t exactly grown on me either.
Lots of (to me) useless features clogging up the UI. Can’t remember where various functions are, on the rare occasions I need to use it, half the time.
Fallon and Colbert are pretty controlled probably due to their mainstream audience - and advertisers.
It’s interesting to contrast Bill Burr’s appearance on all 3 shows.
Burr is most at home on Conan and worst on Colbert - who ran the interview like an interrogation; lost a lot of respect for Colbert after that (if you are going to be a wet blanket, might as well not book him).
On Fallon ... it’s hilarious to see Fallon fumble and panic as he tries to steer him towards the script then giving up half way.
One form invoked killing all military age males then selling of the woman and children as slaves scattering them.
Pretty common back in the day from what I read. Very low chance of revolt.
(Assuming “everyone” includes the attacker here.)
The Mongolians did. You just had to be willing to thoroughly finish the job. Fear of guaranteed annihilation kept the rest in check.
A pity about their 10nm. Won’t be surprised if they have given up on it by now and have shifted all resources to 7nm. Hopefully 7nm comes online before 14nm completely gives out.
