You’re assuming a lot about someone you know nothing about, which proves how young you truly are.
I also lost an uncle and an aunt in the war. My wife lost countless family members during the 90s. My family was halved and we buried grandparents, uncles and aunts in both world wars. None of that is second-hand to me.
You don’t know where my parents are from or what they lost, or what I have lost. You decided all of it from one word in a comment. That's a bold assumption. As you grow older, you'll learn not to assume. Not everyone tells their grief in the first person. Some of us chose to put it behind us and not lead with it, which doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
Your loss is real and I’m sorry for it. But you told a stranger he “saw no death” and “experienced no grief” without knowing a thing about him. That’s deciding whose pain counts based on where someone lives now, the same thinking that made the 90s possible.
Nobody in this region has a monopoly on grief. I hope you have people around you to help carry yours, as it seems you should relief some of your pain. I hope in ten years time, you will look back at this thread differently.
“Serbia (proper)” is doing a lot of work in your argument. I was talking about Serbs, not a line on a map.
Around 200,000 Serbs were driven out of Krajina in a few days during Operation Storm in 1995. Roughly a quarter of the ~100,000 dead in Bosnia were Serbs (Bosnian Book of the Dead). By 1996 Serbia was hosting over 600,000 refugees, one of the largest refugee populations in Europe at the time. Those people didn’t “deal with a refugee crisis”. They were the refugee crisis, and today they’re our neighbours, in-laws and classmates. Plenty of families in Serbia also buried conscripts who were sent to Croatia in 1991.
1999 also wasn’t just “a two-month air campaign” to the people who lived through it. It lasted 78 days, killed around 500 civilians by Human Rights Watch’s count, and was followed by another ~200,000 Serbs and Roma leaving Kosovo.
None of this cancels what was done to Bosniaks and Croats, much of it in Serbia’s name, by a regime many of us protested against. Bosniaks suffered and I’m not disputing that. But “you saw no death, you experienced no grief” is simply untrue, and saying it doesn’t make anyone else’s grief count for more.
Also saying Serbia has not experienced anything war-like but the NATO bombing, is delusional. You do seem to forget how many people died in WWI and WWI.
Whoever thought you this at such a young age, is helping spread and water the seed that is not letting anyone heal from the shit that was organized in the 1990s. I wish you well.
We (Serbia) were ethnically cleansed as well, that does not count, right?
Do you really think we had a choice? Do you also think the whole thing wasn’t planned between all of the countries involved?
Unfortunately, there are reports that they have “dumbed” down Opus 5.5 already.

I was struggling with getting this working as there's no official support for reporting battery life via bluetooth and via cable. It took a bit of trial and error - but there's a working menu bar item, a control center command, works with the desktop widget (where you'd see airpods, mouse etc), and you can control lighting with it! Hopefully it helps someone :) A lot of credit goes to claude...
This is awesome! Thank you so much for great work! Off-topic - does anyone know if something like this exists for Keychron keyboards?
Would you be willing to share more? I don't mind if I have to pay for it!
What is exactly slow when building APIs in Python and compared to what? :)
I lost a family member recently as well. Sorry for your loss. I would love to use this, yet my POST request (when answering) is blocked. Is it geo-location based or something? I'm not using an ad-blocker or anything.
I loved command and conquer series... Red Alert, Generals, all bring back a lot of memories!
So, what should we buy next? There can be bread for all of us :D
I have used it for personal coding projects - expo react native projects and a Django backend. my account got banned, as the company owner non the less. My teammates were using it for the company projects (all coding through the codex app / vs code) and they were not banned.
Same thing happened to us with OpenAI. Appeal did nothing.
Is there any way to check if a subreddit that was made private (2-3 years ago) is in the data dump?
I really like the minimalistic design of the website, but I was disappointed to see Wordpress used. Does anyone know if something similar exists whether free or paid - as long as it's available as plain CSS/HTML?
This comment made my day.
That would have been my argument exactly - I am not saying that Django fits every use case, but with my limited exposure to projects that have ended up using non-Django Python API framework, they ended up recreating the batteries included approach, with probably way too many issues waiting to be discovered with manually rolled out auth, middlewares and ORM.
Aside from the obvious that ninja let's you use django.
Old is a harsh word, maybe mature would be a better fit, not everything new and shiny is gold, and yet not everything old sucks.
Not arguing here about types and Pydantic being faster than the built in ModelSerializers. However, for serializer speed improvements and performance in DRF I would advise dropping ModelSerializers and either going for Serializers or plain dict. Haki Benita has a beautiful article on that [0]. I was able to accomplish sub 200 response times on a fairly large response from tables that had tens of millions of records.
I think you have no objective reason other than your styling and rather personal preference for function based views?

Can you explain further on the performance aspect of Django Ninja vs DRF?
What seems to differentiate django-ninja over Flask or FastAPI or any Starlette derivative? You mention lightweight as well, can you expand further?
Care to elaborate further? I keep reading on this, but no one actually mentions anything specific that ninja does better than DRF.
I have been building something like this for myself. Is there a room for a paid software, and would you be willing to pay for something like that?
I'm genuinely surprised it got my accent right. Coming from Serbia, I'd never expect to get it right. My first guess was that it's geo-ip based, but I could be wrong.
While we are it - are there any good resources on how to best self host a Postgres database? Any tips and tricks, best practices, docker / no docker etc? I’m looking to self host a database server for my multiple pet projects, but I would love to get backups, optimizations and other stuff done well.
I have had similar thing happen with Wise, a year or two ago. I’ve looked into alternatives like Mercury and Brex. If you opened up your business through Stripe Atlas or Doola and the likes could you ask them for support?
If you don’t mind me asking - what country do you reside in?
