Re:Snatch: A simple and fast download accelerator, in Rust on Sunday January 22, 2017 @08:37AM (#13455129)
Aria2 can't manage recursive downloading. Wget can, but wget does not come with a multithreaded option.

I'm still looking for something that can do both.

This is what happens when you put 600 hipster developers in the same office

Re:A few things about Redis security on Tuesday November 10, 2015 @10:34AM (#10539899)
Hmm 9 hours ago and some script kid has already performed this on my local vagrant-box? Pretty funny. I was running it behind vpn and I guess that's why it got exposed.

This is like metallica trying to patent a guitar riff.
The streaming part of Spotify is what makes the service great. But when it comes to improving their desktop-app they really are doing some weird stuff with their hipster developers. I think they are suffering from something that I'd like to call "the winamp effect".
Re:Disque – a distributed message broker on Monday April 27, 2015 @01:05PM (#9447607)
As a redis user this seems very promising due to the fact that I no longer have to "simulate" message queue functionality.
Re:TrackPoint (2011) on Saturday April 25, 2015 @11:37AM (#9438585)
This is the sole reason why thinkpads are far superior compared to any laptop.

And the funny thing about TrackPoint is that people that never used it doesent understand how good it is compared to touchpad.

The new "applefied" laptops are a disgrace for humanity.

Re:Ask HN: How can airports wifi know my flight number? on Tuesday December 09, 2014 @02:35PM (#8725096)
Yes, but the flight number is displayed before you submit your email address.

Ask HN: How can airports wifi know my flight number?

Hello,I'm here at heathrow-airport and the wifi login knows my flight number is advance? How is this possible? I cleared the cookie from my british-airways checkin session, but the wifi-system still guess the correct flight?edit: Worth to notice is that I have made two connecting flights from heathrow during the last two days, and the wifi-login displayed the correct flight number both times....
