On the other hand, it's also preventing people from buying shares and capitalizing on the downturn.
I only have about 3 YOE, working at a non-tech Fortune 50 in the US and job searching on the side. I’ve sent out over 100 applications and haven’t received a single interview. The only interviews I do get are through LinkedIn recruiters reaching out. I have used a few referrals to apply as well but no bites on those either.
Originally, I thought it may be a Resume issue, but after getting quite a bit of feedback on it, it doesn’t seem to be that either. Before I started my job searching process, my main worry was that I wouldn’t be able to get past technical screens, but Leetcode was fairly easy to pick up again and am able to solve most mediums optimally and some hards with a less than optimal approach.
Call me a betting man, but I'd be willing to bet yet even more money that at least 95% of people don't even know what plane they're getting on during their trip. And of that 5% left, only a handful people would rebook their flights at an increased expense of money/time to signal to Boeing that 737 max is unsafe. The handful of people doing it are bordering on virtue signaling.
With that said, however, I really dislike Boeing's recent decisions and the safety issues that have come up. I do agree that Boeing needs to face financial consequences, but I don't believe that customers have any power in this situation. Realistically, airlines and governing authorities would have the most impact and if they don't see issues big enough with Boeing to stop ordering planes, there isn't much else to do.
You're spending an extra 8 hours to marginally (at best) improve safety? I'd be willing to bet good money that you partake in wildly more risky activity (such as driving or even walking down the street). This feels almost like virtue signaling without it being virtue signaling.
I don't see how Apple is making Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Signal, slower and uglier.
Besides upload and annotate [1], you can technically create your own models and use that within the Frigate configs already for free (
https://docs.frigate.video/configuration/objects/#custom-mod...).
[1]You could always mount a cloud drive within Frigate's Docker config to have frigate upload camera footage to a cloud server.
I'm currently using Frigate for continuous recording and it's great and I don't feel like I'm missing any features. What are some features that are missing?
I think the issue is that Bank Accounts also need phone numbers linked to them and it seemed like only one phone number could be tied to an account. Having a secondary phone number used to combat spam also being the sole number tied to a Bank account could be bad. I could be wrong about the single phone number for an account, but that was what I experienced recently.
I'm guessing they've probably implemented baffles within the tank, but even if there wasn't it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Once they are able to get going and are not stopping quickly for emergencies, they should be as stable, if not more stable, compared to a regular bike.
Possibly cost? Offloading unused data to long term cold storage is cheaper than storing on JunoDB and never using it.
Thanks, I just spent the last 3 hours of my life playing this. I have no idea why it's so addicting, but man do I want to win...
Given the use case for this drone (medium-high budget media production) it's extremely unlikely that a person is going to be flying this drone without a spotter. Not having support for their own FPV googles on a $17,000 drone is kind of disappointing.
Honestly, I don't believe that Walmart has any plans to implement Apple Pay. They already have a mobile payment option in their app which requires an individual account. With a ton of their stores already using self checkout which you can use Walmart Pay at, I can see them pushing Walmart Pay to get people on the app, collect data (which aisles a user spends the most time in, what they buy, etc), and integrate that into their stores so they can start getting rid of one of their top "liabilities", employees.
See if there are any saltwater pools next to you, they still need chlorine, but it looks like the chlorine effect is gentler.
But that wouldn't make sense. How many people are going to pay the $8 a month while also being OK with ads? I can pay $8 to Hulu and get an AD supported video streaming service, since I can't get the content for free legally. Why would i pay that same amount to still see ads while also paying to see tweets that other people have created?
This is incredible. I honestly don't think I've ever seen someone give away a business worth billions to charity. I wish Patagonia the best!
I thought that was the Canadian MIT (heavily focused on CS)?
The interview was for a startup. I ended up rejecting the offer due to my fear of stability at startups, but it was one of the, if not, best interview i've ever had. The screening stage was great, talked with the recruiter about the job, work, etc. The Online Assessment was great too, instead of solving Leetcode, it was me solving FE problems. During the onsite interview, instead of them asking me leetcode questions, it was me explaining a personal project I've done and I was excited and loved this since I get to show off something I was passionate about. One the greatest interviews, and I wish them best in the future.
Looks like I could have written that better, I meant to ask what Supabase's plan was to be a better alternative to Firebase, since Supabase is new and has exciting features going for it, while Firebase is old, stable, and has Google backing it with tons of content on YouTube, Medium, etc.. And this isn't me trying to be critical of the Supabase, I love what they are doing, just curious on the business aspect.
With Supabase being a very similar product to Firebase, with the addition of a self hosted version (something that is hard to profit off of), what is the plan for the future in getting market share from Firebase users? I can see that GraphQL was added recently and that is a great feature that Firebase doesn't have, but features like that don't move significant people from Firebase to Supabase.
I personally feel like daily standups are pretty important, contrary to what some people are commenting. Sure there are teams where they don't have any schedule meetings, but having that morning standup for 15-20 minutes each morning does a lot more than people think. I get to see what everyone else is currently working on and offer help if anyone says they have blockers. It works vice-versa as well, I sometimes run into issues and anyone on my team can pitch in, instead of me messaging individual people asking if they've seen that issue before. Even if all the above doesn't apply, I still get to talk and socialize with my entire team for 15 minutes, barely any productivity loss.
Although I would have to agree with all the Agile/Scrum meetings comments here. I work at a very large insurance company and we have a dedicated Scrum Master. We have several meetings a week, each at least an hour with things like Retros, Backlog grooming, Planning, etc. These are the meetings that provide very little value while also taking a huge chunk out of my productivity.

So if I understand correctly, based on the documentation, if someone has the master password and the login url, they can derive all passwords without any 2fa/verification? If so, that seems like a security flaw...
Love the 3 window merge approach to merge conflicts. The old approach wasn't the best as it could be a bit confusing, but this is fantastic!
One thing that always irked me when it came to configurations is that a device is advertised as "starting at $599" but has a bunch of specs like "Up to I9, 64gb of ram, etc.). I understand from a marketing perspective, but it is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to these websites.
I'm most excited about the suspense feature since handling load was always a bit of extra code when it pretty common among most apps.
I'm actually in the other camp. I'm currently running an iPhone 8 and the touch id has been very inconsistent in actually unlocking for me. I have to position my finger in a specific way (I even have tried reenrolling my fingerprints) and to no avail. I do usually get sweaty palms and fingers so perhaps that has something to do with it but, in my opinion, touch id isn't perfect for me.
That was a confusing point in the article for me. I thought it meant that people doing mental math would tip on average $1 more than a computed option.
