Re:How to Succeed in Mrbeast Production (Leaked PDF) on Monday September 16, 2024 @03:12AM (#41553536)
I would disagree on the net bad for the world, or at least be skeptical about it. Personally, Youtube was my life changing tool which I used to learn almost everything essential to my career and personal development, and I would assume lots of others would be the same. The type of content it recommends goes with the type of content you interacted with in the past. It just a tool and it matters how you use it
I found Brave more trustworthy than Chrome and better usability than Firefox. Just made a switch to it.
Didn’t know Firefox has this ability, it’s the reason why I have to stuck with Chrome ever since. Couples of click to switch profile and that’s it.
Re:Wunderlist founder wants to buy his app back from Microsoft on Sunday September 08, 2019 @03:18PM (#20912722)
It sucks seeing MS kills Wunderlist. I’m always a huge fan of it. Simple, intuitive.

In Japan, Yahoo is still among the champions.

Isn't it what https://remoteok.io does?
Re:Jack Dorsey’s account was hacked on Friday August 30, 2019 @04:39PM (#20842473)
If it’s that easy to hack Jack’s Twitter account then we should think twice about its safety. Sounded like a joke.

Off topic but what an username!
Is that what SHI does?

If yes, hope you can do better than them. As a product owner, I've been working with many resellers and most of time it's not worth it.

So they feed their AI with food instead of data
This, if made right, is indeed helpful. I have some friends working at early stage startups without understanding esop, even some can’t distinguish options and shares.
Re:How to get 30k Hacker News visitors to your website on Monday August 05, 2019 @01:14PM (#20615947)
Right. If HN readers are your exact target audience, then it’s totally worth it.

After we got featured on HN for awhile, whenever I hangout at some tech communities, there will always be someone saying “yeah, I came across the post about TablePlus (my product) on Hacker News the other day. Tried already”

That feels good tho. Also a good way to start a conversation and ask for feedback.

Re:Ask HN: Anyone else find the new Gmail interface sluggish? on Monday November 05, 2018 @03:44AM (#18380807)
You're not alone. I was blaming on my internet connection for awhile, until I found this post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18095579

Moved to ProtonMail for important conversations.

Re:Ask HN: Best alternative to Gmail? on Monday September 24, 2018 @06:14AM (#18056412)
I use both ProtonMail and Zoho Mail. - If you go for better security, ProtonMail. I use this for my personal email. - If you need better UI/UX & some other utilities, use Zoho Mail. It's free though.
DBngin is a handy app for setting up and managing local database server on Mac:

- It’s lightweight. Hundreds time lighter than Docker.

- It’s very simple. Create, start, and stop servers with some simple clicks.

- It supports multiple drivers, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and more to come

- You can create and manage multiple servers with various versions and ports.

- It’s free

All the functions are presented in the free version. It only limits the number of active tabs/connections at a time (3 right now), and you can not change themes.
Thanks a lot for your support!
Hi guys,

TL;DR: We are back again with the Windows version of TablePlus:

- A native build.

- Multiple drivers support MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server… and the others are coming soon.

- Built-in SSH, no need for PuTTY.

- It’s the fastest DB tool with streaming results row by row and async loading.

- Intuitive UX/UI with the high-resolution display.

- Active development and lifetime support.

- It’s 100% compatible with macOS version, you can share data from macOS to Windows (connections, history, favorites, license…).

This is the initial release, more features from the macOS version are coming to this Windows version in the next few weeks, including indexes support, import CSV,...

Re:Exit scammers run off with $660M in ICO earnings on Monday April 16, 2018 @01:13AM (#16846785)
That is the legit number. And actually, the scammers built their profiles by leading a lot of winning ICO investing campaigns before that. People just had to follow their investing scheme, put money in their so-called portfolio, and made tons of money from it, so they trust these "experts". Then they claimed iFan and Pincoin were the biggest opportunity. People were so greedy to realise the truth tho.
Re:CockroachDB 2.0 released on Wednesday April 04, 2018 @11:44AM (#16755802)
Congrats on the great advancement. It's also a coincidence that TablePlus just started to support CockroachDB yesterday. In case someone need a good GUI: https://github.com/TablePlus/TablePlus/issues/374
Right, that'd be a big leap since we also plan to make it viable for non-tech users. If we put those kinds of feature in plugin, we can keep the app simple & clean.
