Re:Ask HN: What’s an app that you wish you had? on Sunday April 21, 2019 @12:58AM (#19710608)
An app that translates legalese to conversational language. I want to point my camera at:

- housing lease

- healthcare enrollment forms

- loan documents

- EULA

and the app will spit out a translation. There's a slider on the app that will adjust that translated txt from conversational all the way to colloquial.

Or maybe a browser plugin

I have watched hours of youtube, heard hundreds of metaphors, I've read countless articles and followed even more tutorials. I am beginning to think grokking the Monad is beyond me.
Re:Motion Stills – Create Looping GIFs from Live Photos on Wednesday June 08, 2016 @04:02PM (#11865180)
IMHO, it would be even better to have this as a servic that I can submit media to and receive these kind of results. Does anyone know of such a service? No knock on Motion Stills, I think Google has made an awesome app.

I'm absolutely enamored with http://imgur.com

- They continually refine the product

- They are careful of feature creep

- The community they've cultivated seems to feel incredible ownership of the product.

Very cool project! Is there any word on getUserMedia for IOS Safari?

Nice article, I thoroughly enjoyed it. How about some insight into what compromises you had to make when choosing web over native?

Re:Show HN: Weekend Project - Monthly Startup T-shirt Subscription on Wednesday September 21, 2011 @03:39PM (#3023360)
I like the idea. I mean, I REALLY like it. However, I'm with the crowd on this one, $23 is a lil steep for me. There's gotta be a way you can bring this price-point within the range of the work'n stiff.

Re:Your problem with Vim is that you don't grok vi on Monday August 22, 2011 @07:58PM (#2914708)
It's great to see all the vimmers on this thread. One question, WHERE are all you guys? I work at a very large corp. and I am hard pressed to find another vimmer when it comes to discussing the beauty/elegance/purity of vi at the water cooler. May be we need a secret handshake or nod?
