It's kind of an odd concept; you post an opinion piece, and then down vote anyone that doesn't agree with your personal opinion.

Why post it at opinion pieces at all? Just post your opinion and lock the thread.

So the state should be forced to support you because you are unwilling to learn a new trade?
things move forward; like it or not. Some people spend their entire lives trying to live the same moment over and over because that's what they know. The factory you worked at shutdown; you need to move on, and if that means moving to another town to find work, then do that. Don't just hunker down and demand everyone help you. (unless you are asking for help to move and find a job.)
I think for each person who doesn't want to constantly move with the times, there is another person somewhere else that does, so we just swap those two people and call it good.

Can this do GUI programming on Lin/Win? Or Are there usable gui libraries for doing cross platform development like QT?
Re:Raspberry Pi Zero Headless Setup on Wednesday December 02, 2015 @10:09AM (#10663345)
I've always just used this http://www.adafruit.com/products/954 and connect to the pi via serial. Although with the 0 it would require soldering on 2-4 pins.

Re:Gig Economy Workers Buy Like They Work on Tuesday November 24, 2015 @02:10PM (#10622816)
After reading the article I'm still confused what a "gig economy" is.

1) make up terms 2) get click through 3) profit

Re:How the Pomodoro Technique changed my workday on Tuesday November 17, 2015 @04:41PM (#10584154)
The last paragraph pretty much sums up the entire article:

All it links to is a black page asking me to subscribe to some newsletter.
$40 + $40 + $40 = enough.

Probably too stoned out of their minds to think that far ahead. They should move ahead with having their next 3 children instead.

So they have money for drugs but not moving?

Some people feel that they not only have the right to never move, but others should come in and help them, through aid or whatnot, for their bad decision.

you want to live in a barren waste land, that's your problem; Don't complain about it.

Re:Dizzying Ride May Be Ending for Startups on Wednesday November 11, 2015 @10:16AM (#10547026)
it's ending again? Wasn't it supposed to end the year before, and the year before that, and the year before that? When is google going to just drop news.google.com and have an algorithm write the same stories over every year?

Next up: The next [pick top product] killer! you won't believe how [pick new or underdog product] is going to completely replace [pick top product] due to it's [pick random feature in [pick new or underdog product]]

I watched the video, and it seems all it really does is spins in circles and turns the headlights on and off.
Re:Google to Fold Chrome Operating System into Android on Friday October 30, 2015 @02:38PM (#10479661)
Oh, and it seems the story was completely fabricated by the WSJ. So we got one and a half paragraphs of lies, and a bunch of advice on how to read the rest of the lies in the article that may or may not work anymore...

thanks

They are still being sued by Oracle over the base the OS is built on.
Re:Google to Fold Chrome Operating System into Android on Thursday October 29, 2015 @05:37PM (#10474529)
I can only see 1 paragraph; why do people keep posting sites with broken content? Would be nice if people could link to actual content.

If they would have converted the school shooting story to a funny gif or an image demeaning to women, I'm sure it would have trended to the top of reddit within seconds.
Re:To Be More Creative, Cheer Up on Tuesday September 29, 2015 @12:21PM (#10297390)
I like sites that do this. Then I swiftly close the page, and update my block list; never to be bothered with their fluff content ever agian.

We need more of these sites to block all the content as soon as you land on their page.

Now a really awesome feature is if ycombo news could detect sites like this, and just not show them on the front page at all.

fault? Their stock dropping sounded pretty good to me.

"cop blamed for sending child molester to jail."
