Did they die with expensive energy or from expensive energy?
That's a continental average. Rates varied (June 2022) from nearly 72% in Rwanda to near zero in neighboring Burundi. You are unfortunately parroting a bad/malicious over-generalization.
Sweden tried to go the "herd immunity" route, realize they were about to take it hard on the nose, and changed course to match their European neighbors who were doing better. What do you think happened?

So many projects forget the MS in DBMS.
Re:Ask HN: Why is Node.js hated so much? on Saturday October 09, 2021 @11:25AM (#28810660)
I've worked in tons of different ecosystems. You still need batteries in other platforms. I'm in a .NET web project right now where no only are the core libraries out of date, and one gone out of Microsoft support, but is filled with libraries such as Newtonsoft's JSON library.

BTW, learns at least 2-3 languages in your career. This will give you a perspective many lack.

Those are people problems, not language problems. You can have a relatively stable, testable toolchain in JS.

It's unfortunately easy to find sociopathic engineers.
"Potential job-loss outcomes range from between about zero and 3.7 million workers."

So, between nothing to a small re-training program. Go for it!

Re:Simple, correct, fast: in that order on Monday July 09, 2018 @10:15AM (#17490300)
How do you know how far to simplify if you don't pay attention to correctness? Simple has correct as a dependency.
Re:Simple, correct, fast: in that order on Monday July 09, 2018 @10:14AM (#17490292)
This generic expression indicates why "correct" comes first. "Simple" has it as a dependency. ;)
It's also pretty easy to ignore a paper contract... until you get caught. Then, the level of triviality of circumvention doesn't mean crap in court.
So, some files on your system likely have read rights but no write rights were I to log in. Is that evil?
It's not a good argument. DRM is an executable contract. Contracts cannot enforce themselves. That is why we have police, courts, etc. The fact that it is an executable contract makes it more difficult to circumvent than a paper one, but circumvention is still circumvention.

So, what is a better language for learning? (Genuinely curious.)

Ask HN: Are There Banks Best-Suited To SaaS Startups?

We are a US group in the process of gearing up for a launch. Obviously, we need to open a bank account with some bank somewhere to handle day-to-day cashflow and expenses. What is the most startup-friendly, business-oriented bank with a good online presence? What should we look for?
