The compiler has hard coded domains that control who can use certain features. For example, custom operators aren’t allowed, but Evan is able to use them.

All your incantations can't protect you

> congrats if you buy a stablecoin - you've effectively financed the US gvt at 0%.

As MMT teaches us, a government that issues its own currency does not need to borrow to finance itself, as it can create the money it needs, though it may still issue debt for other reasons.

As far as I can remember, the $5 droplet always had 1 GB of RAM. The current $4 droplet is only 0.5 GB.

The AWS instance in the post, t4g.small, has 2 GB of RAM. So it's not really comparable to the $4 DO droplet.

> Both have 5USD instances

DigitalOcean no longer has a USD 5 instance, it's USD 6 now.

You and your wife can both install Signal and play the same game. Then you can discard that Facebook is snooping on your messages. And you can think of bigger conspiracies which is always fun.

Discourse is 100% open source.

He said he no longer lives in the United States. Did I understand correctly that you need to live in the US to open a Pana account?
> In economics inflation has a specific definition: a general rise in the price level. It can be caused by all kinds of things.

When the prices of all goods and services go up, it is the thing you measure them against that is going down. If there were no currency, there would be no inflation, only changes in relative prices.

2 vcpu 8GB:

DigitalOcean $ 60 with 4 TB transfer

Oracle $ 25.75 with 10 TB transfer

(DigitalOcean includes local ssd, but you don't want to use that.)

Exactly, just like Biden accusing the meat oligopolies for price hikes. Hey, lets pour another billion to solve the problem. And corporate greed and all that nonsense. It's a carbon copy. Yet many believe it.
This would not surprise anyone who lives in a country with a weak currency, like Argentina or Turkey. The currency is devalued and you earn more and more Pesos or Liras, but they are worth less and less. I understand that you live in the United States and that you are used to measuring things against the Dollar. So you consider the Dollar as something fixed. Now that your currency is devaluing, businesses income (and your income) is going to increase, but only nominally.
Re:Haskell2020 Is Dead, but All Hope Is Not Lost (2019) on Thursday February 17, 2022 @09:10AM (#30373193)
Thank you. I hope the strategy turns out great. But, you know, i18n is such a basic feature. You said "check out IHP, Haskell's version of Laravel/Rails/Django"...
Re:Haskell2020 Is Dead, but All Hope Is Not Lost (2019) on Thursday February 17, 2022 @08:41AM (#30372906)
One thing that struck me is that i18n will be included in the paid version. Does it mean that it will not be open source?
Re:In Argentina, inflation is a way of life on Thursday January 27, 2022 @07:11PM (#30108960)
That's something MMT gets right. Public deficits = net private savings. So as long as there are people willing to save in USD (and not only US residents, people all over the world save in USD, including Argentinians), you can have a persistent deficit. In case the 7% becomes persistent inflation, make sure you have a plan B, you don't want to lose reserve currency status.
Re:In Argentina, inflation is a way of life on Thursday January 27, 2022 @05:33PM (#30107908)
But don't forget that no matter the amount of taxes collected, politicians will find a way to spend more, so there will always be a deficit and more money will always have to be printed and whoever wants to reduce the deficit will be accused of "tightening" (ajustar) the Argentine people.

Argentina leads a ranking of world tax pressure:

Re:In Argentina, inflation is a way of life on Thursday January 27, 2022 @03:01PM (#30105581)
This is obviously false. First, employers can't just stop giving raises. Raises are governed by law and by collective agreements (although they are often below inflation). Second, no one just quits, especially a crook. Why? Because you can always force the employer to fire you. How? In general, nothing too obvious, you just stop working too hard. Until your employer offers you to leave and is forced to make an arrangement and pay you compensation.

> Did I fire him? No. It is impossible to fire your employees, even for proven misconduct.

> Did I sue him? No. You lose 95% of these types of cases.

It's encrypted but not e2e encrypted. Why would you say that it is virtually public? Do you think you or the FBI can easily access Telegram messages?
Re:AWS free tier data transfer expansion on Wednesday November 24, 2021 @01:19PM (#29333220)
Bear in mind that premier support is included for free for cloud customers. So for example ksplice and dtrace are included. Ksplice is fantastic and it's really worth it.

That's the first thing I looked for. It has not changed. It's $ 6 / user / month.

Why aren't scooters more popular in the US? Does it have to do only with the weather?
It's totally ok not to publish the price, just don't name the page "pricing".
Please, put the prices in the pricing page or change the name.
