Re:Ask HN: What do you think about Safari Books Online? on Friday August 31, 2018 @10:59AM (#17886102)
Slightly off-topic but does anyone know authors get compensated on safari? Has their life become better or worse?
I don't think so, that looks like a software package to create a Teachable clone.

Ask HN: How about creating an indie alternative to Udemy?

The landscape for online course creators is not satisfying. The most significant player is Udemy. The problem with Udemy is that I can't build my own audience and have no control over the sales price due to ongoing discount offers (the price setting is a joke, regardless of what amount I set I rarely sell for more than 10$. yes, I can relate to this 100%. That's why I have become a huge fan of using Vagrant in (my) tutorials. +1 I always had back problems, but after my now two year old was born it got much worse, due to lack of sleep, lack of sports and the permanent lifting of 13 kg. I tried a lot of things at home, the only relief were medical massages.

This book "Foundation: Redefine Your Core, Conquer Back Pain, and Move with Confidence" did almost magic to my problems. The exercises are dead simple and I'm still amazed how well they help.

Agreed, the infomercial nature is a bit off putting but don't let this distract you, the exercises are working
