Could the ship’s computer resign from Star Fleet and go do something else?

“give him the freedom” - I think you mean pay for the tokens.

No.

Moving beyond the Turing test isn’t moving the goalposts. Before Claude and its ilk existed, people underestimated how convincingly language could be generated by systems whose internal operation looked nothing like a human mind. Discovering that fact is a valid reason to update the standard.
It’s double plus good!

> Another (small) architected respect dimension is gender pronouns. They can be a bit awkward with agents. I was using "they/them" intentionally with all my agents, but I noticed they were often defaulting to human patterns by using he/him for power-roles like Lion, Marshal, and Seneschal. So I started using "she" for obviously-female characters like Goose, and they picked up on it, at which point it was unclear who wanted what.

Get this guy some help.

Yes, the planet got destroyed. But for a beautiful moment in time, we got to play… Wyvern.

I really don’t like this guy.
Re:Don't be a meat proxy on Monday August 03, 2026 @11:44PM (#49164172)
Oh man, this resonates. I feel like I’m starting to drown in an endless sea of overly verbose documentation that the originators themselves never read. If you ever have a question, they’ll just point you to the docs “they wrote.”

> I've never been more informed or understood more about my code, pipelines, and stack than now...

Would you mind clarifying if this includes code, pipelines, stacks, etc... on which many other people are simultaneously working on in a group setting? Or are these all things that you alone are working on as an individual?

My experience has been that AI makes me tremendously more productive as an individual working alone. Put 20 people (all empowered by AI) on a project however, and it quickly falls to shit.

— Shakespeare. Probably.

Lucky. I’m on the hook for 54 billion (and change).

Nods knowingly. Yes, of course. I definitely know this.

Is this the Star Wars equivalent of dressing up as characters from The Handmaidens Tale and being overly dramatic?

There are four vacuum repair shops on Cape Cod, and I’ve never seen anyone walk into any of them. I bet a big chunk of these funds are funneling through there.

Bingo.

I also love this game. I was so hoping someone had managed to port this to WASM.

AI is a force multiplier for whoever is using it. In the hands of a skilled practitioner, AI can be used effectively. In the hands of an idiot… watch out.

Most people are idiots.

What a time to be alive.

MacOS does this as well, and it drives me nuts. No, I do not want files on my desktop to be synced to iCloud.

Nice try, ChatGPT.

“Microsoft Tentacle” - Now there’s a name for a new product line.

Wow!

If you haven’t seen that “Everything is a Remix” documentary you should. It’s so good.
Re:When AI Writes the Software, Who Verifies It? on Tuesday March 03, 2026 @11:06PM (#47242936)
This hits hard. I’m getting hit with so much slop at work that I’ve quietly stopped being all that careful with reviews.
