Amazon Ads | Front End Engineer, Software Development Engineer | New York, NY | Full-time | ONSITE/HYBRID (remote for now)

L4 FEE: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/1729290/front-end-engineer

L5 SDE: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/1729291/software-development...

For better results, don't apply online - message me first and I'll get things started with the recruiting team.

My team owns the campaign building experience for Sponsored Advertising. We meet the demand of worldwide advertisers to reach full-funnel audiences, both on and off of Amazon. We're a collaborative, cross-functional team with high impact across the entire multi-billion dollar Amazon Ads org. These roles have lots of visibility and plenty of room for growth.

Our team is centered in New York City. We are fully remote for now, but we'll eventually snap to Amazon's on-site policy, which will most likely involve some hybrid working model.

The Front End Engineer role is a full-stack role. It is similar in many ways to a Software Development Engineer, and there is a lot of overlap. The main difference is in focus. FEEs are primarily focused on front-end development and creation/integration with supporting services. SDEs are primarily focused on services, back-end development, distributed systems, et. al. You can see all current openings in Amazon Ads here: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/business_categories/advertising

I agree with this, but I'd simplify even further: Get two friends to play the role of bartender, buy a few cases of beer, and do this at home. Invite 10-15 friends over and ask them use your app. Watch them use it, and ask lots of questions afterward. Make sure you have a small set of specific questions you want to see answered by your user study.

Software Engineer - New York, NY - Full time

At Control Group (http://www.controlgroup.com/), our mission is to transform business, products, and spaces with technology. We build software, hardware, and experiences for clients. We frequently work in the nexus of business, cultural, and civic spaces, often building for traditional desktop and mobile devices, but also incorporating physical computing and locative aware systems. We use technology and design to help our clients envision what's possible and build it with them.

We are currently looking for engineers with strong JVM skills (Scala experience a huge plus) and LAMP devs.

Please get in touch at [email protected].

I know some of the people involved in this affair, and I can assure you that they are far from rich or connected. The fact is, NYC has a vibrant, organized, motivated underground arts culture and community.
