ASUS RT-N66U is nice, didn't have a need for AC. I have that and an older Netgear WNR3500l (v1) running upstairs and down same SSID different channels. Tomato is my firmware of choice although ASUS with Merlin is pretty solid.

There were some pretty good router deal on Black Friday, be on the lookout for the ASUS on Cyber Monday I'd say.

For what it is worth looks like they just released an iOS app as a companion for the book. $15 is the price. It appears to capture the methods of the book plus contains videos teaching the method. No reviews yet.

Yep, not saying it was a secret... Tim O'Reilly had it nailed back then... but the story I have to remind myself of is that too many times we go off face value rather than digging in and listening to people like Tim... This happens all over the place and it was worth capturing the story that replays in my head each time I see a new revision of it.

If anyone from Dropbox is listening/interested I may be able to setup a conversation with the IT guys if you are working on a solution... email me.
Re:Ask HN: My company is now disallowing Dropbox... on Thursday February 24, 2011 @09:03PM (#2260722)
I hear the control part but what control is there really... Don't you think the physical files on the laptop of the average corporate worker are more likely to be compromised than dropbox itself?

Not sure companies will survive and be competent if it all goes this way...

Do we need FDIC (from the banking world) for data?

Ask HN: My company is now disallowing Dropbox...

Is this an unsolvable problem? What questions can cloud services answer and finally get through to corp IT? Who's startup is grappling with this problem and winning? To be clear, I know how I could get around it... and I am not planning to do that... I am asking how can we progress the IT point of view and allow enterprises to adopt these revolutionary tools rather than fear them. Is it a lost...

Re:Jason Calacanis' Take on Google's Algorithm Change on Friday January 28, 2011 @08:55PM (#2154341)
Saw Jason live at DLD talking about "the pivot" it seemed like a genuine change backed up by some very quality video snippets from the new site... much different than his internet persona I had read about in the past. He even apologized to the crowd for "talking too much" when he was younger. A new leaf for sure.
Re:Worst gadget ever? Ars reviews a $99 Android tablet on Monday November 22, 2010 @02:30PM (#1930974)
BBYOpen, Best Buy's API team, found some other interesting uses for the $99 Android tablet... :)

http://bbyopen.com/2010/11/maylong-android-tablet-more-versa...

Anyone here doing startups in China? From inside or outside the country?
Happy to hear you see that, we are trying every day to pivot where we need to... it's hard... it's a big company but these posts remind me we have definitely made movement... thanks.
As you might imagine we didn't have all the say on the license we chose... fell free to send over some educational links we can share so next time we pick something that would make :/ -> :)
I guess to some degree... we just thought if it was worth it for us to build vs. buy we'd share what we made with others choosing that road to get them started. Our site is here: http://bestbuyideax.com
The team was going to publish this on github as well but never got around to it, I'll see what I can do.
Good idea, I'll let the team know that would widen the potential user base considerably. I think you are right for our needs recency is not as important as mass up votes.
