While we've started with outbound fetch/HTTP, we certainly plan on adding additional functionality over time.
Hi there! I'm one of Osgood's authors.
To clarify a few things:
1. Any tool that reduces the privileges of your application code, such as Osgood or Deno, is doing so because application code cannot necessarily be trusted, since you're pulling in external dependencies that can have vulnerabilities or malicious code, and even one's own code may have unknown vulnerabilities that may cause unexpected IO behaviour to happen.
2. The policies you can set with Osgood are defined in a JavaScript file that is run separately from your application code (i.e. the worker files), and it only runs once to build up the policy data structures in native code. This V8 Isolate is then discarded. This means that application code cannot modify its own policies.

I hate to nitpick but this is definitely a North American Dialect Map, rather than just an American Dialect Map.
Thanks! I hadn't seen share.js before. I'll have to look into it.

In my case, I was denied entry due to a paperwork error in Toronto and so had to stay at a hotel to catch a flight the next day. It would have been nice had everything been arranged and applied for ahead of time.

Hmm, I don't want to be spammy, but this could be a good idea. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
Just an ebook to start. If there's enough interest, I'll see about doing a print edition.

I'm confused. If you're not located in the US, why do you need to be DMCA-compliant?
That's the sort of picture that makes me feel a tad patriotic (I'm Canadian).
I'm curious. Why do you install Mercurial without Homebrew?
The other question is whether the postal code data falls under Crown Copyright (
http://publications.gc.ca/site/eng/ccl/aboutCrownCopyright.h...). There all all kinds of restrictions and freedoms that come along with that.
Of course, it might not be the case that Canada Post data is under Crown Copyright, since it's a Crown corporation and not a government department. IANAL.
The whole world has postal codes. Some are simpler than others. It would be nice to see an API like this one that supported more than just one country.

Perhaps that's what the creator intended?
I've used this. It only makes sense for very small images. You basically have to lower your font size down to unreadable levels in order to even
see an image of any reasonable size, much less edit it.
I love vim and like to keep as much of my development environment inside it as possible, but it's a text editor.
I agree. I work in a team with alumni from many different universities and I think the differences between the schools add to the diversity of the team and increases the number of angles at which we tackle problems. A good fit is important, but preferentially hiring your own university's alumni seems like a good way to prevent building the best team you can.
Yes, you're going to have some culture differences, but so what? Every company I've worked for has made it's own culture.
