I like this idea and hope it “goes viral” to keep the Godot hype train steaming ahead.

Anything that keeps open source software in the spotlight is worth at least the 40c it’ll cost to get this game on Steam.

Self-hosted and open source.

I’ve been enjoying all the new discussions, comparisons, and content surrounding open source game engines.

Even if it’s clickbait or shallow content, it still raises the awareness of these tools.

Does Godot make enough money to be picky about sponsors?
Re:Phaser: A fast, fun and free open source HTML5 game framework on Wednesday September 13, 2023 @03:43PM (#37500842)
I made a seat map for a stadium here in New Zealand about 7 years ago using Phaser. It’s still in use today.

https://www.skystadium.co.nz/whats-on/find-my-seat

It’s nothing spectacular, nor is it particularly well built, but it was a solution I successfully proposed as my first job at a local web development agency which was already half way done trying to build the seat map with HTML map and area tags.

It made me realise that these huge and reputable Android ROM developers will still treat your phone like a toy, and are therefore completely untrustworthy.
The two things that stopped me from using custom Android ROMs:

1. Discovered that emergency calls would crash the phone (during an emergency)

2. The LineageOS April Fools prank.

Perhaps it wants to rage-bait you into watching and commenting on the video.

After you’ve seen the two 15s ads, of course!

Is Cloudflare known for constantly starting up and shutting down products left, right, and centre though?
I’ve had watch history disabled for years, and the suggested videos were always perfectly fine.

Now I have zero ability to discover new channels, and already my engagement is much lower since I’m limited to what I’m subscribed to, or whatever random search query I make.

My YouTube experience is significantly degraded now.

Fortunately, they appear to have created more interfaces for mass deleting old comments and likes / dislikes, so I’ve been utilising that too.

I look forward to seeing what else they punish me for, for using the settings and tools they provide.

> “you need to provide a telephone number, which is linked to your real-world identity”

What country do you live in? I can go to my local supermarket and buy dozens of pre-paid SIM cards with pocket change.

If you’re somehow associating your literal identity to a phone number, it sounds like you must be in a pretty heavy surveillance state.

Additionally, if you’re worried about being tracked, I hope you don’t carry a phone whatsoever.

I used to catch the bus instead of flights, but it’s just not worth the few dollars saved.

People stink. People eat hot stinky food. Oh, and there’s only one toilet here and we’re only stopping for a few minutes. Oh and this stop doesn’t have food options suitable for my dietary needs.

A 12 hour bus trip vs a 1 hour flight?

I’ll always take the flight now.

I agree, and find it quite overstimulating too. I’m not even sure what it’s trying to show me.
Surely that’s just the nature of IPFS, right?
Then everyone will just use an auto-reply service.
The results are often very uninteresting or thought provoking.

Absolutely. I have a browser extension installed specifically to block domains that are this type of spam from my Google search results, and I’m adding to it almost weekly.

Come on Google, you’re seriously ranking that as front page worthy?

This makes me think of the following static site generators that use a file-based structure to generate navigation:

Re:Steam Deck now the global #1 top seller on Steam on Saturday July 01, 2023 @05:19PM (#36555354)
But why get the Steam Deck 2 when you could wait a little longer and get the Steam Deck 2 Episode 1?
Re:Steam Deck now the global #1 top seller on Steam on Saturday July 01, 2023 @05:05PM (#36555223)
So they’re putting it on sale now but still won’t sell it in many countries?

E.g Australia and New Zealand are still having to buy them from unauthorized resellers.

Ah, good point, sorry, it's just released in Public Beta this month, and opening the source code is Coming Soon™

This is all it takes for me to get value out of my subscription. It's saving me time by anticipating my next test / block of code based on what I've previously written, and that saved time really adds up.

Sure it's not "Jesus take the wheel" level AI yet, but time is money, and so is my sanity.

You could always check out AnyType: https://anytype.io/

Open-Source, E2E encrypted, offline first, syncs to all your devices via IPFS so no centralized server, etc.

No usernames or email addresses either.

That’s not how Face ID works. Face ID uses geometric data to map your face.

It doesn’t use photos.
