This whole magic can be explained in one sentence. `infer` is introduced to TypeScript's templating. The rest, I mean this sql parser is just the result of this new "tool".
Re:Ask HN: How to nab and block a creepy user? on Wednesday July 15, 2020 @09:33AM (#23844960)
How about creating rules?

  A talks to B
  B blocks A
  A registers as C
  *not too much time passes*
  C talks to B
At this point C is considered to be a harasser and therefore it will be hidden for B. B can of course lift the ban if it's just a false positive. To further specify who's who in this graph, the logic can find the smallest time between ban and the creation of a new user with the same behavior (writes to B) as the reported one.

I think this is way more easier than handling those who abuse the actual service you're selling.

Re:America’s Teens Are Choosing YouTube Over Facebook on Friday June 01, 2018 @02:34AM (#17203068)
For a 25 years old student from a middle european country that I am, everything happens on facebook. I don't post or see posts of others. I simply hid that feature with a browser extension long time ago. But I use groups extensively for discussions and help in any field i'm interested in. There are groups where you can only sell things, that's also very useful. I use messenger to connect to literally anyone I know, my family, friends, my colleagues. I receive events there too. Some of the places I go to only have a facebook page. Last time a good confectionery posted that they close in a week. How else would I know if I didn't use facebook? It's pretty much perfect for me because I can't think of anything else that I would need. Another interesting thing is a group where almost all of the country is represented and they have varying quiality posts on everything that happened to them. If someone keyed your car, you ask for witnesses there, if you lost your wallet on a tram, you ask for help there. Currently the admins share abortion stories to keep the sources' anonimity. So that's a nice group with all it's quirks.
Re:‘My Hovercraft Is Full of Eels’ in Many Languages on Wednesday May 09, 2018 @09:03AM (#17029429)
ekke assumed the hovercraft can hold at most 331 eels. You assumed it holds 4 billion eels. Who's right? I don't know but a billion eels sounds far off.
What I really miss is a message reading and search program that handles megabytes of text in DOM without freezing the browser.

Or a too hard course. Or a bad lecturer. Or you skipped the previous lecture and it's all gibberish again.
Re:Can QML become the next standard for web UI? on Tuesday August 01, 2017 @01:07AM (#14898017)
It's like native Qt for the web. IMO It is a very good proof of concept.

"The writing of Hungarian is largely phonetic" So this program wouldn't work for hungarian. Oh well. Your comment would look like this pronounced by me on an elementary level: Jú kud ték a lengvidzs from ö diffrönt lengvidzs femili tu örrájv et számszing szimilár. For fördör ábföszkésön jú kud júz diffrönt trenszlésön.

Re:Tell HN: Merry Christmas on Sunday December 25, 2016 @08:09AM (#13253998)
No offence, but you forgot that it was an 'interesting' year for the filipinos too.

edit: although highlighting every sad/meaningful event would require more than what the comment box can hold.

I'm still relatively young but I think people (bosses) quickly forget that line that the company bought your work hours. Your performance on tasks is what matters in long term.

Why is pointing out that it is unreadable brutal? You know what's brutal? The h2 tag that covers half of my screen.
