This looks less like a workflow engine and more like a small durable execution primitive. That isn't meant as a criticism, I actually find that smaller abstraction more appealing given how many general purpose DE products exist, but "durable agent workflows" made me expect scheduling, etc.
Loved the store, and the mailer as a kid. Really inspired me to build things. Really wish more stores like it still existed. Anytime I'm back in MKE, it's one of my first stops.
Re:Jules: An Asynchronous Coding Agent on Monday May 19, 2025 @09:51PM (#44036991)
I don't think it's meant to be literal, more tongue-in-cheek. Obviously, developers aren't going to be playing table tennis while they wait for their task to finish. Since it's async, you can do other things. For most developers, that's just going to mean another task.
Re:Jules: An Asynchronous Coding Agent on Monday May 19, 2025 @06:38PM (#44035715)
I think that's the point AI agents are trying to sell. Spend more time on the type of coding tasks you want to do, like coding cool new code, and not the tasks that you don't want to do.
Re:Jules: An Asynchronous Coding Agent on Monday May 19, 2025 @06:07PM (#44035434)
I think they are suggesting that you can focus on the code that you want to write - whatever that is. Especially since the first line is, "Jules does coding tasks you don't want to do." I took the first image as being someone working on the computer. Or, take back your time doing whatever you want - e.g. cycling, table tennis, etc.
Yawn. Every AI company is using your inputs on training.
You should be able to use the library mentioned in the article with a few small modifications to connect to your device.
Looks like you can get custom colors here too: https://xqd-led.en.alibaba.com/productgrouplist-936470954-2/.... And likely much more affordable than Breakfast.
Probably because they are just a hobbyist and not an expert in the field (nor do they assert that they are). Maybe be a little kinder on the internet. It sounds like it was just a minor oversight.
I've been coveting a Vestaboard, but this seems like a more interesting alternative. Thanks for the guide!

Re:U.S. pedestrian deaths reach a 40-year high on Monday June 26, 2023 @10:53AM (#36480369)
Largely because it's still not seen as favorable by the public to prioritize pedestrian safety over vehicular parking/speed - even in liberal areas where this should be easy. We are a car-centric society, and I'm not sure when that'll change (unfortunately).

Curious what you use instead and what features you use that Vercel doesn’t have.

Excited to finally use this!
Re:The Bay Area has become a large declining tech company on Saturday December 18, 2021 @11:56AM (#29606059)
I've lived in many of those areas. I agree, plenty of smart people, but not the same density compared to the Bay Area.
Re:The Bay Area has become a large declining tech company on Friday December 17, 2021 @01:23PM (#29596092)
If you have the money, it's still a great place to live. While it does have its problems, a lot of it is right-wing propaganda. I've thought about leaving, but the one thing that keeps me in the Bay Area is the sheer density of smart people. You are surrounded by ambition. I have yet to find another city in the US that has the same energy.
Re:Maybe it’s time we re-think docs on Tuesday June 22, 2021 @10:07AM (#27591784)
We have this problem where I work. Docs aren’t given the care and attention of other areas. I hope this changes.
Re:DeLorean considering all-electric reboot on Friday January 22, 2021 @10:33AM (#25872491)
There was no question posed. I was simply injecting a random piece of trivia (which I acknowledged). Now that you understand my intent, why do you keep pressing? These are the types of responses that make people not want to comment on news.yc.
Re:DeLorean considering all-electric reboot on Thursday January 21, 2021 @10:43PM (#25868056)
You took that quote out of context. "...creating snowcats when he purchased the Logan Machine Company" I'm aware of his automotive history. Just wanted to provide a different perspective of what other things he was doing around the same time.
Re:DeLorean considering all-electric reboot on Thursday January 21, 2021 @08:00PM (#25866916)
Random piece of history - John DeLorean got his start creating snowcats when he purchased the Logan Machine Company (LMC) brand. He quickly renamed it to DMC, and continued to make snowcats at the same time he was making the DMC DeLorean. I have one of the LMC snowcats from the mid 80s and it's fantastic machine.
Re:Airbnb's new typeface on Tuesday May 15, 2018 @05:55PM (#17078228)
Typefaces can't be protected, at least in the US.

Yep, you have to be fairly close to the screen for it to count. Obviously you can cheat if you want to, but what good is that.
