That's why I just don't buy their games. I really enjoyed Far Cry 3 and would really like to get the rest of the series, but just can't put up with their account system even at discounted prices.

There is sea trek, https://www.sea-trek.com/ which is for people to walk underwater in swallow depths. Not tried it, but looks interesting.
Re:Effects of cat ownership on the gut microbiota of owners on Wednesday June 23, 2021 @03:12AM (#27601680)
We have the same here, I think a lot of cat owners who let their cats out don't appreciate the amount of downsides their neighbours have to deal with.
Re:UK Rail services to come under unified state control on Thursday May 20, 2021 @03:06AM (#27218258)
I thought all the rolling stock was owned by a different company to the ones running the actual franchises. Which is separate from controlling the timetable. Although very confusing.
I've found that, it took me a few times to switch over. But I've found that even when I can't find something on DuckDuckGo when I try use Google I don't find it either. I wonder if that is now because I haven't regularly used in a few years and Google isn't able to guess what I'm trying to look for.
Re:Ask HN: How many hours per day do you work? on Monday December 14, 2020 @02:50PM (#25422310)
For me it varies a lot, I think it's very easy to think you are working when you are not. But also easy to work and not realise it.

I think a lot about Joel Spolsky's post [1] on the subject. It depends on what you are doing but I think in software development you need to look at effectiveness rather than time spent.

Re:Firefox: Sponsored Top Sites (v83 in-browser ads) on Thursday November 19, 2020 @06:10AM (#25148324)
Firefox updated and noticed extra "Sponsored" Top Site, I love Firefox but don't really like ads in my browser without any warning.

What phone/browser are you using? Works ok on my Moto G5 with Firefox which does have problems crashing/reset on some websites but not sure why.

I really liked the breakdown in sections. Have been trying to get into Rust and use Bevy so great timing.

Working with Bevy is a challenge/interesting at the moment with the iteration/rework of key areas but enjoying it so far.

Re:Transport Tycoon a.k.a. the great optimiser, Chris Sawyer on Friday October 02, 2020 @07:46AM (#24661623)
Where is the interview? Link is about history of Chris Sawyer's works but doesn't actually contain an interview. Still fascinating though, really enjoyed his games.
Re:Your calendar should be an allowlist, not a blocklist on Tuesday August 04, 2020 @03:56PM (#24053865)
I agree with the premise, but it depends on your workplace. I struggle with colleagues who don't even both checking if the spot is available.

Didn't take long but LGR has just released a video of him playing it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ6Cqn5rTfs

Is that the former Fog Creek/FogBugz company?
