Really good to have google etc busted wide open by superior products and innovation. Company just seems like a black hole for talent attached to a huge money printing machine.
Moat for chatbots is soon going to be whoever reddit/twitter/quora/stackoverflow allows to mine their fresh content for models.
If the endpoint is not the user clicking in a link then why should these companies give away all that value?
The only way you can tell that this article isn’t chatgpt is the frequency of grammar mistakes

If the moat to building chatGPT-like apps is training on up-to-date primary source data from sites like reddit, and the algorithms quickly become copied and commodified (like stable diffusion etc did to dall-e), doesn’t all the value accrue to primary information sources like reddit? They can sell access to their information and ban/sue anyone who tries to scrape their data wholesale, and...
Still don’t understand why putting plastics into landfills is not considered carbon capture and promoted as more environmentally friendly than risking it being burnt or disposed of in the sea when shipped to developing countries for “recycling”
A single valley in some remote area can easily swallow millions of tonnes of plastic
Expensive, energy utilizing recycling processes seem less environmentally friendly while also leaving more fossil fuel available for combustion use elsewhere
For context, the econ prize isn’t a real nobel prize
Doesnt fannie mae/freddie mac essentially backstop a lot of this risk too?
Whats more likely to result in your kids being upstanding members of society? 300 million cash in a bank account, or a job and board seat at a billion dollar charity for eternity and $20 million?
Blacklisting/censorship of tokens/addresses is an existential crisis for defi that noone wants to talk about.
Most of defi is based on collateral, and if locked collateral can be debased by censorship, the whole thing falls apart.
A good reminder as to why crappy old dumb rock ossified btc with no features and 13 years of track record and no founder is something pretty special
Was very effective for a couple i know, so much so that the baby had a very flat head from sleeping so much
You could input an image and get it to recreate it as best as possible and then output a seed. That would be interesting!
Bs.. i remember sending the link for the nypost article to a friend via facebook measenger and the link would simply be deleted as soon as I sent it.
That isn’t tweaking algos.
Dall-e2 is the most amazing technology I have ever seen. Literally magic.
You can borrow btc then use that btc to take 5x leveraged positions on btc.
If number go up, you make billions. If number go down 20% you default on loan. Absolute scumbag behaviour of course.
If you could really move heat 300% more efficiently than using a resistive heater to generate heat, couldn’t you just move a bunch of heat to power a steam turbine and get a perpetual motion machine?
Can someone please explain to me why putting plastics in well managed landfills isn’t carbon capture? Like if plastics don’t break down for hundreds of years isn’t that carbon capture? And why burning it and producing co2 is environmentally friendly?
I feel like I’m being gaslit
Obese women’s offspring have double the risk of hypospadius, and women having babies after 40 have 4x the risk of hypospadius.
Metformin is a drug that men are probably 100x more likely to be on at 45 vs 25. Therefore men on metformin are far more likely to be reproducing with older (and likely obese) women.
I’m not saying this explains all the correlation, I’m just saying if the study doesn’t really make a good effort at addressing these confounders, its not worth reading.
