could you share with us those utilities? I've tried doing the same with AppArmor, but I ended up having endless warnings and weird bugs.
Hey guys. I think this project might be interesting for those dealing with legacy projects.

Very often, companies with a large plain Javascript want to migrate to TypeScript but don't want to spend time and resources on it. So, I decided to create a tool that automatically migrates JavaScript projects to TypeScript with the help of type declaration files and GPT-3.

It's very early-stage, but it has already helped me with some of my projects. Give it a try and let me know your opinion.

We're going to have so much fun migrating Wordpress websites while everybody is already on Solid React Angular that still forces you to implement all loading / error / done states per request.

My experience is actually creating projects from scratch and outsource everything to 3rd parties (like using Firebase for everything). But lately I've seen that there are too many organizations (specially government and non-profits) that desperately need some improvement in their technology. And they need it more than a startup that is already in the bleeding edge.

I hope in the future people feel free to post job postings or freelance projects in this subreddit.

A subreddit dedicated to discussing and making it easier to work with legacy code.

There's a lot of projects out there that need to be kept alive. The objective is to make them fun to develop again.

Re:Essential Software in Docker Containers on Saturday June 25, 2022 @08:10AM (#31874569)
Some of my day-to-day software.

After knowing that saved Chrome passwords and cookies in Linux are not protected against malicious dependencies in our development environment or other apps in our system, I decided to run my core apps in Docker containers, where their data is not accessible without sudo, and a personal understanding of where stuff is being saved.

These docker containers are also an improved version of https://github.com/jessfraz/dockerfiles/

Contrary to the project above, docker-workspaces runs Chrome in a sandbox, encrypts keys with the help of an also dockerized gnome-keychain, and works in tandem with pulseaudio, so you can use wired headphones (i still need to add some dependencies for it to work with bluetooth headphones).

Re:Not-Me – Easy and Type Safe Validation for TypeScript on Monday February 22, 2021 @06:26AM (#26223274)
Opplane ( https://www.opplane.com/ ), the company that I work for, released a small validation library that serves as boilerplate to build validation schemas, while keeping the strict type safety (no any's or object) as something that "just works", even when extending the library.

It was easier for us to have a small piece of code to maintain, instead of having huge libraries like yup or joi that have everything and even more in them, but always need some kind of work for the type-safety to work correctly.
