Hail Eris Discordia!
Sweet. Is there a way to test this?
This is really great. Is there any other AI similar to this one? Maybe one that generates AI illustrations for the cards...?
The thing with this suggestion is that ATM Instagram is trying to fix how people are getting addicted to the Instagram popularity contest and instant feedback from the likes. Recently said that is testing the possibility to hide the like count. This suggestion IMO is another kind of feature for that popularity contest to be on the Famous side of the app.

... and there's also the Placebo Effect.

What a way to look at things. I agree with you. Also, that makes me think that there's even the term "evangelist" used in the tech talks...
Related to this; is not that the world is that bad (even tho it really is in bad shape), the thing is that the massive hyper-load of information is only growing and know we instantly know more about the shit that is happening worldwide when decades ago it would take even days for you to know about the war on the other side of the globe.
The issue with social media and mental health is that the topic is just being researched. Millennials and Z's are the consumers in which that technology is being tested and we don't really know all the effects and damages that this new thing is causing on people. We sure know that it is pretty addictive and causes some damages to people who use social media mostly passive and binge on it.

Another damage that Social Media does is that now most peoples attention span is quite short, really short actually, and it doesn't help for the workflow. Add the depression(FOMO?) caused from the "comparison is the thief of joy" produced by Social Media and you have a really bad mix that will make you fill like shit on the regular basis.

LOL. Even this comment reflects part of the generation. Probably you are writing this from a first world country. The selfish gene makes people blind.
Savage. I support this. I relate with your attitude too. That kind of thinking sure have given me more than a roof and a warm meal.

Reminds me of this Bandcamp user makes some really cool Sci-Fi ambient loops, this one is a Blade Runner ambient loop: https://cheesynirvosa.bandcamp.com/track/blade-runner-ambien...

I think something like this would be awesome in generative.

Is there a plan for an iOS app anytime soon?
Why not?

And if you want to dig even deeper, the book "John Dee and the Empire of Angels: Enochian Magick and the Occult Roots of the Modern World" takes this topic even further.

Can something like this be done for Medium?
Re:Does it matter where you go to college? on Thursday December 13, 2018 @01:37PM (#18674788)
Networking is one of the main reasons when going to college. While education, the courses and knowledge is really really, really important. Networking is just as important as that.

Your social skills really matter in your life after college and it might help you paying your student debt.

Just wrote my first 200 words. I really like two major things about this site:

1. It's really simple UI/UX so you go straight to the point. 2. The Github like counter for your post.

I will definitely use the site more and more.

Re:Ask HN: Are there any Artists in the house? on Tuesday December 11, 2018 @04:59PM (#18659343)
Hello, I'm currently working in my art-startup that will launch next year.

As Musk quoted Roosevelt in the podcast: "Comparison Is the Thief of Joy".
Actually is from William Burroughs, but yeah, a really good technique.
I really fund useful the Artificial deadline approach. It goes well with the Important/Urgent decision-making process.
From the promotion part, it just got obnoxious, egocentric and insincere.
I guess the point, in general, is not to follow somebody else's story or the story that society narrates to most. The point of life is to go with your true will, whatever that is.

For the comment above, it seems like he is blissfully happy because he has funded and followed is true will(as personal and empiric as it is).

In the case of the author in the article, seems like root is the unsatisfied purpose in her life. The depression for the past, the anxiety about the future doesn't help with the present and like a snowball, it just gets worse with time.

The strategy of Fabiano was better, but the tactics of Carlsen was the real reason for his victory.
Re:How to balance full-time work with creative projects on Tuesday November 27, 2018 @10:09PM (#18548982)
Since many(if not all) of this comments are completely empirical and based in personal experiences, all I can take from this comments is that one of my 2019 resolutions is to start a plan and save money to quit job and focus on a project of mine.
