This topic is now buried, but I guess you'll see comment replies.

The "hide" link is visible on the main page, before you go to the comments. Example for the current #1:

If you want to delete your own submissions, I don't see a way to do that.

The little "hide" link under each post works for me
Re:US boy names that became girl names and vice versa on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:12PM (#50341014)
Most surprising was "Mario" becoming shared. "Maria/Mario" seemed inherently gendered, based on the last letter.
What if high quality software exists, but the supermarkets did not pay to install the last 10 years of updates?
Re:Postgres 19 is late, and it's AI's fault on Monday November 02, 2026 @09:56AM (#50337669)
Public software is going to be attacked by many more dollars of AI time than internal stuff. In a year the library code will definitely be more secure against the next X dollars spent on cracking it.
Re:Anthropic hacked to deliver remote access trojan on Friday October 30, 2026 @10:44AM (#50304693)
Now I'm glad I've not opened VSCodium in a few weeks; I prefer using Claude as a separate application anyways, will have to remove the extensions. No evidence, but I do feel like the problem is going to be OpenVSX and not Anthropic.
Re:LLM Voice on Thursday October 29, 2026 @04:19PM (#50295263)
North Korea could make a "Dear Leader" device that lives in people's homes, and discusses how happy they are and answers questions.
But they sure are upset now that Discord bans accounts based on reports to its thought police.
That raises a question I'd never thought to ask: who owns a murder weapon, after it's been confiscated and the sentence fulfilled?

Or make it simpler, is an unlicensed firearm returned after the legal process? If not, who owns it?

Those are FBI agents, not Flock contractors
Re:Anthropic S-1 on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:46AM (#50244661)
They didn't use AI to write the prospectus...
Re:Lula wins election after final votes tallied on Sunday October 25, 2026 @09:12PM (#50237805)
Maybe it's useful for people spending money to present the odds they wish for?
Re:Reforming English Spelling on Friday October 23, 2026 @07:23PM (#50216724)
How about backwards compatibility, support the new spellings as well as the old? We're sort of already in that situation with English vs. American English. Over 100s of years, the "natural" spelling will win out.
Re:Remove pgrust: the entry is cheating on Friday October 23, 2026 @11:18AM (#50210512)
Would the AI have bothered to maximize the benchmark, if it hadn't been asked to?

"LLM" isn't the problem. Asking an LLM to explain cheating is a good goal. Asking it to "Maximize the benchmarks" reeks.

Sometimes the public defenders actions are indistinguishable from collusion with the prosecution. The window to appeal can close before your sentence is over.
It does NOT mean "He agrees to settle any financial claims against himself or his employer, for damages caused by negligence".

Could have said "I blame only myself for this mistake, nothing else needs to change".

This will keep happening until the system where this can happen runs out of willing scapegoats.

Re:SBD: We Have a Filesystem at Home on Thursday October 22, 2026 @12:19PM (#50197495)
Like going to an "independent" restaurant and being served a McDonalds Spicy Chicken Crispy Deluxe . Good sandwich, but I could have just gone to McDonalds.

And if McDonalds started mass-producing the restaurant's signature burger, I would hope the chef has enough pride/business sense to make a new signature burger.

Re:Crystal 1.22.0 on Thursday October 22, 2026 @12:12PM (#50197380)
There are Minecraft bots written in Crystal, which was the first time I'd heard of it.
Re:Way to Play Super Mario 64: On Apple Vision Pro on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @12:53PM (#50184044)
It's obviously not "the best" way to play; seems like even a bad filtering rule is right twice a day.
The infected devices on the LAN are an attack vector, though.
Re:Publish fake stats, get cited in LLMs on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @02:24PM (#50170514)
"The web" is fine, this is a problem for Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
Re:Ukraine claims first drone evacuation of wounded soldier on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @07:26AM (#50164629)
Also wild that if it can happen to Russia, it can happen to other countries.
Re:Android apps running native on macOS on Monday October 19, 2026 @05:29PM (#50158308)
Variety is the Spice of Life
Is it better if these are pure development servers, that are only used for Claude to create software?
Re:Zero-Click Spyware Delivered via Targeted Ads: AdFection on Thursday October 15, 2026 @05:18PM (#50110410)
The lawyers should name everyone involved with unauthorized access to your computer as defendants , the obviously innocent parties can be dropped before it gets to trial.

Re:Suicide rates highest ever among middle-aged men on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:00PM (#50098607)
China is a good example for the US and Russia for what to do.
