I am still allowing myself to make an occasional mistake, because if you do not read the ingredients carefully it can be hard to say what is (for example, finding out a brand name chicken ramen bowl is artificial chicken and is actually vegan friendly) and what is not vegan (for example, a brand name candy I previously enjoyed, sadly), but rather than giving up I hit the reset button and start again the next day until I get it right. Everyone gets a mistake!
Yeah that is good when shopping at a local grocery store, but more difficult when you want to make good choices at the local coffee shop, which has more limited options even though they do have some available that are vegan or/and organic.
Trying to go vegan because of this, but then I realize halfway through the yogurt I am eating that it is based on milk and is not vegan in the slightest, even though it is considered vegetarian. There is always tomorrow.
UTM is another great example of this, which is basically a GUI for QEMU. They have a Mac App store $9.99 version and the free open source version:

It is hard to take almost any mentorship program seriously that is not a formal university education, and even then, at most universities they do not teach skills that are directly applicable at companies given they are not intended to directly be job training programs. Not that I am on any hiring committee currently, but if I was, I would rather see a candidate with a degree and open source project contributions than App Academy dreck, for example.

Contributing larger PRs to terraform-provider-aws because apparently my contributions so far do not have enough lines of code as a metric. Getting familiar with Floci for usage with Terraform over LocalStack since it is a true open source project rather than freemium. Also getting my AAS from Maestro. Ride or die since I can not afford college anywhere else despite their current accreditation issues with COE.
I lost access to my Revolut account a while back and recovery did not work after losing access to my primary email address and MFA. They also removed the ability to deposit checks on their mobile app. For these reasons I can not treat it like a real bank anymore as much as I love their 4% APY savings account rate. Unlike gmail, which had recovery options with a secondary email address. They could have implemented something similar.
Their web app functions perfectly as a replacement, however.

Role looks super interesting and would love to work for Space tech, even though I have no specific experience in the domain.
I want to get fired from my job search. We'll have to see if SSDI (been about 6 months since applying) or a job opportunity comes through first.
Books have been replaced by DVDs at my library. I spent almost all my time at a book store for a year in Austin and can count the number of active readers I saw in there on one hand. It's depressing.
CloudFormation and ECS are bright yellow flags for me. I'd be interested in knowing why you went with this proprietary tooling vs the open source Terraform and Kubernetes/EKS alternatives. Also, is paid relocation available if I wanted to relocate to NYC? Currently in Charleston, SC.

That sounds absolutely terrifying.
Specifically because it generates Terraform code along with the diagrams, but I guess it's not the selling point that I thought it would be.
I launched a draw.io competitor to the point that it is in production, but there is little activity on the site as far as signups are concerned. Doesn't deliver enough business value.
Q+a interview talking about past experience on the resume and quiz format of various technologies. The quiz format gets on my nerves, but not as much as leetcode and live coding rounds.
Interesting. I am going for a broad search rather than being targeted. Maybe it's as you say, an industry specific problem. At my last fintech job they just quizzed me a bit on Terraform and asked me about experience, though that role ended up being a disaster later on.
They don't, at least in the SRE space. I have been interviewing for 6 months without a single coding challenge or LeetCode-type challenge. Though I would passively avoid companies that offer them, as in I would avoid them if offered, I have yet to be offered the chance to avoid it in an interview.
Definitely this. I like seeing issues reasonably populated with OSS projects. Otherwise, how am I supposed to contribute back to it? Granted it's a newer project so I will be keeping track in the future.
You open to adding a new mentee to the mix? I have 10 years of XP and looking to grow doing DevOps work.
