The Conversation has an article that supports raising expectations for students, given that they have access to AI

https://theconversation.com/mit-researchers-say-using-chatgp...

maybe the policy will succeed in encouraging learning for most students (at least I hope so!!); otherwise some might still rely on ai because of the trust they've built up with it, a lack of connection to and therefore faith in the info they're expected to just memorize, low confidence in their abilities, etc

If you ever do, post it! I'm sure it would be an interesting read

Re:New flapping robot swims and flies like a diving bird on Tuesday July 14, 2026 @07:11PM (#48914140)
nice! I was just learning about MIT's tiny insect robots that already weigh little enough to fly but still have to break surface tension to go underwater
Re:Xonaly – Canada's Independent Search Engine on Sunday June 28, 2026 @07:49PM (#48713040)
launching this on Canada Day (July 1) would be pretty cool
Re:"No, I swear I wrote this." on Saturday June 27, 2026 @03:31PM (#48701003)
surely there real-time AI writing checkers? predictability in word choices and sentence-length variation are alr available so maybe someone has to make something that measures delays in sec now. that could be a feature that op implements *like coursera/edx tech as sidpatil mentions
same, or I use a semicolon

Hope you're well; and it's really neat to hear about the impact a teacher can have. How did you guys make the desks? Also, actually I got carried away and read over your 100 Demons cartoons esp the one suggesting u can in fact make a difference with comics :)

As high schools students, we are conducting an aggregated interview to commemorate the ISS’ launch! If would like to contribute and be credited: issforapush.netlify.app.is this a good idea: having an online directory of our questions with your answers? An ISS interview directory was posted in Show HN recently, however it only includes established astronauts…

Re:Did moving to new place have intended effect? on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @01:55PM (#48211511)
whether you change might depend on how young you are. younger minds tend to be more responsive to how they perceive the environment around them- I'm Canadian (16yo) and the US is overall similar to Canada...the main thing is that you're living in different housing (your local area changes). I moved back for a year and had a lot of daily habits change.

half-way through reading this comment I was so scared for you but the turnaround is great to hear!! I'm hoping to move to SF soon, do you have an opinion on the culture of its neighbourhoods?
