Ask HN: DNS or HTTP based ownership verification?

Posted by attacomsian on Monday July 22, 2019 @09:47AM
from the ask-hn dept.

Hi everyone,Last week, I launched a marketplace (https://whobal.com) for buying and selling side-projects. Now I am trying to add business ownership verification and need your input to choose the right method. Here are the validation methods I am considering:1. HTTP-based - Ask sellers to upload a file in website root directory.2. DNS-based - Ask seller to add a DNS record like TXT.Personally,...

Re:Show HN: Whobal – Buy and sell side projects for free on Saturday July 20, 2019 @05:51AM (#20484894)
1. Your private data (name, email, etc.) is 100% secured. We will never ever sell it to anyone else.

2. Right now, the focus is not on making money. We want to build a community of buyers and sellers while keeping the service completely free. The basic listing will remain free but we might charge sellers for optional upgrades (extra promotion, higher listing order, featured on homepage, etc.) in the future.

I hope it helps!

Hi,I started Wired Dots (wireddots.com) as a side project last year and created 30+ premium Bootstrap 4 landing page templates. After few months, unfortunately, I lost the focus and started working on other projects. Now I want someone to take over the project to grow it further. But I am struggling to find a place where I list this site for sale. I know about Flippa but it has become worst...

I will appreciate your feedback and suggestions.

Re:Show HN: I made a tool to track the growth of top Patreon creators on Thursday December 07, 2017 @04:30AM (#15868747)
I was curious to know who are the top Patreon creators and how much they are earning. So, I created this simple tool to track daily growth of top 100 creators in each category. It tracks creators earnings, patron count and per patron amount in USD. The list is updated daily at 12 AM UTC.

I welcome your feedback and suggestions.

P.S. If you like this tool, please support it at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/toppatreoncreators

Open Milestone can help you share your product frequent updates, milestones, new features and more with your users. It can help you create your product roadmap and let your customers vote what they want. It is helpful for product managers to decide what features are most desirable and what to build next. Open Milestone offers a built-in email notifications system to get your users more engaged with your product and to keep them up-to-date about requested features. Your customers can opt-in to receive notifications whenever you share a new update.

Your feedback is welcome.

Look nice. Why not allow users to list their domains and setup prices in dashboard instead of TXT record?

Efty is already doing it.

Re:Show HN: A simple web app playground on Tuesday August 22, 2017 @03:56AM (#15070469)
It is a great way to setup an MVP. Best of luck.

It looks very nice. Would love to know what led you to create this and how you are going to grow it.

P.S. I was working on something similar since last two days. I used prism.js & Ace editor to create a Bootstrap 4 playground for my own blog (example: https://codegim.com/embed/a3EZQmXj)
