Which makes you wonder what exactly are the requirements to qualify as the dude watching the monitor. First come first serve basis?

It's hard being a specialist but almost anyone can apply for security.

Well in my case if I had to I'd ask for female security officer (or gynecologist for that matter).

You are assuming the random dude to be purely random which may not be the case...

Plus using your logic you will not mind your daughter strip in a room full of random guys, hoping that will be the first and last encounter.

Meh, adult daughters can decide on their own anyway up to what levels they are willing to make themselves seen.

This question is kind of general. It depends on your niche market and luck. I do suggest you follow Seth Godin's blog as he gives a lot of insightful advice you can use as startup. http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/

It might help though if you give more details.

Not just LOLCAT, DailyWTF, etc. but also HN, Slashdot, etc. Not just I waste a lot of time reading the articles, I probably waste more on reading the comments... while keep delaying work at hand.
Can't agree more. Let's hope in the future we can choose to search for tech-specific results.

Is that name serious..?

EDIT: I know a language named similar but that's more like a for-fun project, not a serious one to the extent of replacing existing solutions

Ask HN: Software pricing criteria for startups/freelancers?

Can anyone share how do you price your software? As startup/freelancer the software will not be as popular compared to the big players out there, so high price may hurt. Likewise too low will starve you.Is there an effective mechanism to price based on customer? ie. if customer is individual, low price, otherwise, high. But it seems to be easily exploitable.Any insights? It would be great to...

Re:"Caffeine" - Google's new faster search engine on Tuesday August 11, 2009 @09:19PM (#757017)
Interestingly, stack overflow is not popular with Caffeine...

"HTTP Requests optimization": 2nd result with old Google. Not in the first 3 pages with Caffeine.
