Re:What Claude Code Chooses on Friday February 27, 2026 @05:16AM (#47178798)
How is that a sign of a site built with AI if most people would use the defaults the same way AI is doing ?

> It's like Bootstrap 10 years ago

What do you mean there ?

How is it vendor locking if you are writing Python code you can pull out any time ?
Some are saying replacing video could be abused. What if they that came with Youtube resetting the views count ?
I see Wolof is under "Upcoming UD Languages", I know nothing about R but I see what I can contribute and/or get from there. Thanks!
Thanks for your reply. If you don't mind sharing a link to your company's website or products, I would appreciate.

These are some areas of interest to me : 1- Translation : ie French->Wolof 2- Speech understanding & question answering systems 3- Text to speech .. among others. (I will work day and night to build training samples if I have the tools)

Ask HN: Could you recommend language agnostic NLP tools?

I just build a spell-checker for Wolof, my native language, using some basic rules and a dictionary I managed to put together. I need your help finding open source tools for NLP that are language agnostic or do not require lot of heavy lifting to adapt to a new locale. Thanks for your help.If you would like to test my spell-checker : https://digibox.info/apps/experiments/wolofix/

Re:Ask HN: After BitCoin, can we expect BitGov? on Wednesday April 20, 2016 @10:40AM (#11534704)
I'm sorry this was not clear : I was not talking about taxing bitcoin, but collecting tax payed with bitcoin. People would be asked or required to pay tax but I didn't intend it to be enforced with bitcoin.

They say "money is the root of all evil". If they rule on that, why not ? The same consensus on Bitcoin design (although indirect) can apply.

Ask HN: After BitCoin, can we expect BitGov?

BitCoin succeeded to challenge the established currency system with no centralized authority. Can we expect the same thing to happen to Democracy, a kind of BitGov, ruling and collecting tax (bitcoin?) with no head of State ?

Re:Show HN: Nomino, a cool name for your product on Saturday April 16, 2016 @03:50PM (#11511981)
Names are totally random, not checked against any dictionary, that's what I thought was fun. It would be hard to appreciate the goodness of a name, at least programmatically, how would you do that ?

Re:JQuery vs. Reactjs Thinking on Sunday January 11, 2015 @12:47PM (#8870562)
What I wanted to point out is that the complexity of the algorithm YOU choose is not a good basis to compare libraries on.

Re:How can we get Google Support? on Wednesday April 10, 2013 @08:28AM (#5524657)
If they wanted to pay 6k $ to each of these 20k support guy, they could ask for 6k*20k/(1 billion/3) = 36 cents per 10 minutes support !
So is generalizing Africa as one "need a low cost" smartphone blob, too.
As far as I know, Africa is not a country, neither is it a federation of countries. Why on earth do people think a "one size fits all" solution is right for a whole continent ? I am sick with this "standardization" of these people, this "y'all screwed people, in the same sinking boat, let us help you". People there don't need a cheap crap, they can see those gorgeous smartphones advertised on TV, and they want one of those, who would like a "smartphone for the poor people" ? So, stop this condescending business approach, be fair with the continent and ask for more equity. This way, African economy will thrive (this continent has a lot of resources), enabling millions of people, giving them chance to buy a full-featured smartphone and be proud of owning one.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a crappy low cost smartphone won't be of any help, I'm just saying thing can be lot more better, more fair and more "dignifying".
