Using Cloudflare here has been an interesting learning curve, coming from Laravel and go

And still not 100% sure if the sharding is the correct approach, but load-testing is promising so far

Show HN: Vask – Pusher-compatible WebSockets on Cloudflare, no fan-out fees

https://vask.dev

Howdy HN, Ashley here. Most of my projects use realtime, but the jump from 'free' to 'paid' on existing platforms stressed me out, and I didn’t want to self-host soketi or sockudo. So I built Vask, a websocket platform built on top of Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, KV storage, and analytics engine, so I can get sort-of infinitely scalable, low latency, and low-cost websockets.I noticed that...

This is so great

How is it volume wise while it's working? Manageable or painful?

That worked beautifully - thanks!

Whisp [1] - Pure* PHP SSH server specifically designed for devs to build fun TUIs

Ended up having to write a decent chunk of C using FFI mind, no wonder people write SSH servers in Go/C, and why every AI tool told me it's really difficult and shouldn't be done :D

Bit of fun though, and I know more than I would ever want to know about the SSH protocol now!

Show HN: Achieve more with silent coworking (Deep Work Den)

https://deepworkden.com/ashleyhindle/login

Howdy!I get more work done when I'm body doubling - my brain is odd like that - so I built a nifty silent coworking website where you share your deep work commitments with others in the room. Most other coworking systems need registration, use video & audio and require scheduling, but I'm a simple impatient man.I also wanted to experiment with a new websocket system, a new OpenGraph API...

Re:Mail-in-a-Box – one-click, easy-to-deploy email server on Monday November 28, 2016 @04:29AM (#13054359)
This is the exact reason I built Fodor: https://fodor.xyz - it lets you easily setup GitHub projects on DigitalOcean so it truly is one~ click (usually about 4, but hey pretty good?)

You add a fodor.json file, add a link to Fodor and it makes it super easy to get it setup for yourself

My Conference Is On Fire - Frontend for Twilio conferencing system

This is really nice. I had to be logged in to the web player for the play button to work, but once I did it's a great experience.

Nice work!

Re:What are the downsides to this bash script for SSH keys? on Tuesday January 19, 2016 @02:49PM (#10933425)
Thanks for your input. I didn't realise Ansible had added that in 1.9, that's really awesome.
Re:howiwork.xyz – discover, and share, how people work on Monday November 23, 2015 @05:58PM (#10617966)
I'd love it if you could share your story at http://submit.howiwork.xyz - this really interests lots of people (especially me!)
Would appreciate any thoughts on this, or the next steps which are:

/metric [type] command: to set how you want to send/receive the data /output [type] command: the bot will send you your logs in table format, or graph format

Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (August 2015) on Tuesday August 04, 2015 @06:39AM (#10002551)
Probably for ease of managing benefits, payments/salaries, employment law and such
Re:Show HN: GifFight.club – Who has the winning gif? on Thursday July 30, 2015 @02:13PM (#9976851)
Hi Astrodust,

Twitter is there for authentication so you can't 'vote hack' as easily - it was also much easier to integrate than a full user account system/email verificatoin.

Also, somebody else mentioned this (in a less abrasive way) - what is it about the Twitter auth that's so creepy and invasive?

Re:Show HN: GifFight.club – Who has the winning gif? on Thursday July 30, 2015 @10:51AM (#9975347)
Howdy!

I made this this morning in around 6 hours from domain availability to 'launch' and I'll be writing a blog post about that soon.

See if you can become the King of Gif Fight Club!
